What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“There are many plans for expanding the game, like improving and adding mechanics or assets, which is why we feel the game is labeled as Early Access. We plan to improve the game experience and we want to hear the Community's feedback before we release the full version of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently, there is no specific date for when we will end the Early Access, but we plan to release the full version in about 2 years.
Also we are developing the game in a way that when the transition happens, the data and campaigns won't be lost, allowing the players to continue creating just as before.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a lot of ideas what features we want to implement in the Early Access phase. We plan to add new Biomes, make more Storyteller and Hero tools, and make some other features. We have a roadmap in our Discord channel.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of the game is 0.1.0 Early Access.
The game already has it's core features. The player as a Storyteller can create their own campaign, build dungeons, cities, tell the story with interactive elements, set up NPCs and battles. The player as a Hero can create their character, spend their stat points, learn spells, loot, buy, and equip weapons and armors, fight foes in a turn-based combat and finish campaigns solo or with friends.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. The game will remain free after the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have a Discord channel where the Community can report bugs, or tell their feature ideas. Join our channel to share yours: https://discord.gg/zvm5TaYSBX”

About This Game

The Storyteller is an online game that takes traditional TTRPG elements into a digital environment.
As a Storyteller, you can create your own world. With interactive elements, you can design dungeons, build towns, place NPCs, create battles, and tell epic stories.
As a Hero (player), you can customize your character, learn skills from multiple classes, gear yourself with weapons and armor, and fight mighty foes in turn-based combat.
In traditional TTRGP it is a must, to have someone who holds a session and tells the story. In The Storyteller it is just an option. With the interactive elements, everyone can create a campaign where the story tells itself.
