Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Development started in late 2022 and we want to reach beta stage in early 2025.
The beta will last about 4 months before we release version 1.0 and leave early access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“What we have planned for the full release:
  • 35 cars with multiple body parts to choose from, as well as performance tuning.
  • A campaign, missions and daily tasks.
  • The full island map, featuring lots of drift-parks, carcours and offroad sections.
  • Live races and drift events against other players.
  • Set highscores on challenges and upload them to the leaderboard.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Version 0.4 features 9 cars, 5 drift-parks and one drift zone challenge.
The vehicle physics have been improved, but still need work.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The base game will always be free.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can give feedback on discord, our forum and soon directly in game, too.
We want to implement features and balance the game in accordance with community feedback and ideas.
Clear and direct communication is important for this to work.
The discord server will be primarily used for direct communications and urgent issues.
Our forum will be used to open threads for new features, ideas and issues, making it easy to follow up and organize.”

About This Game

Open World Multiplayer Drifting


The game is in early access and still under development. Skid Island is not a complete game.


Drift around on Skid Island together with your friends, on Windows, Linux and Android!

Drive around:

  • Drift, jump and drive fast to make money
  • 6 "Driftparks" with lots of space and layouts for drifting
  • Set highscores in drift zone challenges

Buy and customize new cars:

  • Buy a new ride with your earned cash
  • Paint your car

Other features:

  • Limited (Logitech) wheel support
  • Limited controller support
  • Visual vehicle damage
