What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game's design is fairly basic, and so while the core gameplay of "casual goofing around fighting with armies" is clearly defined, there are lots of room for how one could expand upon that idea. The idea is that as this basic version is played, it'll become clearer as to how to refine and expand the game. The multiplayer aspect is also very important to the game but difficult to test alone, so the multiplayer component of the game would be difficult to polish to an acceptable level for release without early access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Maybe a year to fine tune and expand a bit upon this game to a proper state”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to flesh out the existing world with potentially more units, items, and perhaps even a map expansion or gameplay mechanic that expands upon the core gameplay.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Feature-wise, the core game is complete. You can fight and upgrade your character, build and develop your holdings, raise armies and fight and take over other towns, unlocking more units and resources as you progress through the map. Multiplayer is also functional, albeit requiring more testing and optimization.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price will increase after release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Suggestions for gameplay, character development, and unit/building types would be considered for further development. The Steam forums for this game will be the best place to post suggestions and comments.”

About This Game

Hail, Sir Knight!

The King has bequeathed unto thee royal lands as reward for thy faithful service. However, these lands are untamed, with its subjects rejecting thy rule as if they weren't a part of the kingdom. As a faithful vassal of thy lord, take up thy sword and conquer these lands and bring them under thy rule, as is thy right!

Develop your holdings by managing resources and buildings. Each building has a purpose that unlocks greater advantages for your town and for your campaign, whether if it's a simple house for your peasant populations, or a grand marketplace to open up a town to trade and resources that are otherwise not available in the town. Construct walls and defenses to defend your holdings from invaders and develop them in order to bring more resources and manpower for your campaign.

Improve your own skill as a knight and upgrade your equipment as you progress through your journey as a knight. Whether it be improving your personal martial skills, or increasing your ability to lead bigger retinues, investing in your knight will allow you greater power and ability to conquer other lands.

You'll need soldiers if you want to destroy anything larger than a bandit group. Levy from your peasant population a basic army, though at the cost of not being able to put them to work, and lead them in battle against enemy forces. Different units are strong or weak against varying enemy types, so choose your army well. With more development and resources, you may even recruit professional soldiers that are superior to the levies, and don't take away from the labor pool, although their cost is higher than a simple peasant recruit.

Sometimes, or rather all the time, it's more fun to play with friends. Bring your fellow knights into your game and conquer the lands together through multiplayer.
