What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“All core systems and mechanics are in place and the game guarantees you an interesting, sometimes unintentionally funny and occasionally spooky time.

My goal with releasing the game in Early Access is to be able to polish and balance the existing content, hopefully with the help from your feedback to be able to shape the game into something truly special.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“A year. This could change depending on economical circumstances and I will be very open around how the project is moving forward.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I want playing Demining to feel like anything could happen at any moment, almost to the point of comical bizarreness.
I believe I've gotten quite far in this regard already but there's still so much I want to add both in terms of new systems and adding more variety to the existing ones. This includes more enemies, weather hazards, disarming-puzzles, etc.

Also, the lore for the game is still being written and the full game will offer the full story with zones updated to suit that story accordingly. (Some zones are being visually changed and some will require new mechanics yet to be added).

To summarize, the vision for the full version is a polished, highly unpredictable disarming horror party-game with an alternative deeper story and progression for those who wants to get as much out of the game as possible.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

  • The game in its current state can be played with 1-4 players with difficulty scaling accordingly.
  • You can unlock and progress through 5 different zones filled with mines to disarm and secrets for you to unearth. If your unit gets deep enough into the progression against all odds, you can complete the game.
  • A market is in place where you can choose between 8 different camp upgrades or 8 different consumables to ease your day.
  • 9 Different threats can and will hunt your unit while you're demining, and a perilous weather system is in place to make the experience even more chaotic and unpredictable.
  • Beneath the surface, lies a randomized system of ruins that shifts on a daily basis and can be unearthed and looted to boost your units income at a risk.
  • You may encounter a few bugs or random visual inconsistencies but nothing game breaking.
  • There is enough content to give you a real sense of the game's direction and hopefully many fun moments.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“You can report bugs and/or submit feedback on Steam, Discord or by submitting a form through the website.”

About This Game

You’re part of a freshly deployed unit, hired to work night shifts for a mysterious military organization. Your mission: clear deadly mines obstructing a remote archaeological dig site in the middle of nowhere.

Your main goal is to work alone (or together) to disarm mines or scavenge whatever you can in order to secure enough funds to keep your unit afloat for the next day.

Something has driven the local wildlife insane, and its mutating.

As you dig for mines, you may (amongst other strange artifacts) also uncover entrances to a system of procedurally generated ruins beneath the world. Exploring these can be a lucrative way to boost your income or be an express ticket to an untimely end.

  • 1-4 Players

  • A non-linear, semi-open world filled with secrets to uncover and disasters of all kinds waiting to happen at any moment.

  • A total of 10 unique areas can be unlocked in almost any order where some may contain unique threats and challenges.

  • 12 unique entities will try to stop or distract you and your unit from completing your goals.

  • Disarm mines. (No two mines are ever the same!).

  • Proximity-based voice chat. Find and repair radio towers throughout the world to extend radio range for your unit.

  • An infinitely scaling game loop, with an optional progression to complete the game if you can find the means to do so.

  • A status system built to always keep you on your toes.

  • Permadeath. A save file can be loaded with any amount of players and will scale accordingly as long as you don't run out of funds.
