Why Early Access?

“We demonstrated Battle Drive at EGX 2023 to overwhelmingly positive reviews, but also to consistent constructive feedback; we wanted to give those players a second chance at the improved version of the game that addresses those concerns.
We also plan to invite associates and influencers to try the game before we go live too, in order to help with QA and Marketing.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to put a demo live around the end of November to Early January. Covering the Christmas holidays and new year”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early access version will proceed through 5 regions in a single player story mode, introducing all the core mechanics of the game.

The full version will expand each region into at least 3 levels and additional play modes such as "Challenge" where the main story objectives are converted into a procedural generated loop for players to test their skills, and online multiplayer modes will be added, where players can compete head to head or collaborate on specific maps from each region.
The "Catastrophe" mode that represents the final level, is an amalgamation of the 5 regions as the world decays around the player as they desperately try to survive.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the moment, we've rebuilt the 2023 demo from the ground up, to make it perform better across different devices, add story, better instructions and a better escalation of features.

The current version primarily uses Keyboard controls, but we added Xbox controller options to make it easier to play and transfer to xbox when the time comes.

We have 3 of the 5 regions implemented, and intend to have the remaining 2 regions done within the next couple of weeks.
You play as a stunt driver in a sports car through an open desert area as a basic tutorial, followed by a movie set (fake city) as a second part of the tutorial, performing stunts and driving through camera icons to collect "shots" for the movie.
The next region is the city, where you play as an ambulance driver collecting patients and taking them to a hospital before a series of earthquakes begin to ruin the city as you try to safely deliver your last patient.
The third region sees you driving through natural environments in an armoured vehicle known as the explorer, crossing beaches, cliffs and caves while being assaulted by landslides, tidal waves and other natural disasters, as you make your way to the VIP hidden somewhere on the map and in need of rescue.
The next region will be a similar mission objective except a battlefield, where you must evade enemy and allied weapon fire, while also using your own newly acquired weapons from you military vehicle known as the destroyer.
In the final region you return to the city, but have more complex mission objectives, building your own custom vehicle from the templates of each car you've had so far, and the funds you collected. You perform heists and serve as a driver for hire, until the Catastrophe begins.
The Catastrophe will be implemented in the full version.

The Regions represent the full spectrum of levels and game features for the full game, but the full version will have multiple levels for each region instead of just one large one.

The Early Access version allows the player to experience some of everything, while receiving performance reviews from each map.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early access will be free to play, then the Full Release will raise the price to the displayed value”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“In addition to our social media (Twitch, Instagram and TikTok especially), we run workshops for aspiring game developers and intend to operate a discord channel for them, hold contests, and encourage participants to check out early versions of Battle Drive to give feedback and make suggestions as to what they want more or less of for the subsequent releases.
