What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This game is really about you, the player, and how you choose to explore its possibilities. The best way to complete this project is to do it with as much input from the players as possible. Early Access offers our small studio an ideal opportunity to design for – and with – our audience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect to spent at least 6 months in early access. The exact amount of time will depend on the number of changes and new features the community asks for.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version is expected to offer the same gameplay but with more content and polish. The extra content could mean a bigger territory to discover with audiences to wow, as well as a deeper quest system, featuring a main storyline and plenty of side quests.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The initial Early Access build features the basic mechanics for simulating life in your camp, managing musical act, and playing their performances. The foundation for the emergent drama is also there. The quest system and traversable worlds are minimal at this point.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan any price adjustment at this moment.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our team will be reading all the reviews from our consumers, as long as they are not too numerous. We will be active on Steam Forums and on other social networks, especially our Discord server. We will conduct polls and ask questions directly when key decisions will be coming. Everything that is clearly desired by the community at large will be discussed and incorporated in our roadmap, assuming it’s feasible and fitting within the larger vision of the game.”

About This Game

In Troubadours, you start your own troupe of medieval entertainers, and lead them to glory while pursuing your own quest for justice.

Life Sim

You build your camp, made of tents and horse-drawn wagons, and make sure everyone’s needs are satisfied.

Musical Management

You create all sorts of musical acts, some small, some large. You decide which songs they learn, how often they rehearse, and where they perform. You play their shows through a live music mini-game.

Emergent Drama

Each character in your troupe comes with their own colorful personality. As they live and work together, they generate countless situations. Some are funny, some are tragic, but they usually require your attention. Imagine running your own reality show with a band of talented misfits.

The road to glory is full of drama and each troupe creates its own storyline.
