„The overall experience of the internal testing for Parisyte has been great, but given that the game has many random elements to it (such as a fully procedurally generated map), I'd like to gain feedback on how to finely tune these systems before the game is fully released.“

OVERVIEW

  • Objective: After being warped into a randomly generated recreation of the Paris catacombs with limited equipment, you'll be tasked with searching miles of old quarry halls for items to complete your designated loot quota.
  • Co-op: Warp in with squads of up to 4 players and experience the horrors of the Paris catacombs with the most essential and immersive feature every multiplayer horror game should have: Dynamic Proximity Chat.
  • Procedural Scaling: Your loot quotas, map size, and overall difficulty are scaled by the player count of the match, ensuring that each venture into the catacombs does not require a full squad to be successful.

THE CATACOMBS

  • Items: There's a vast amount of items to uncover underneath Paris, and each item has it's own category that defines its use and value. Whether or not you decide to pick up a piece of garbage, a crafting component, a utility item, an artifact, or a relic will all depend on what is demanded by the situation you find yourself in.
  • Enemies: Enemy AI is a bit more... "aware" than you may expect, with even the sound of your jacket ruffling when moving your mouse registering to the AI's audio recognition system. With this increased difficulty also comes more unique counters, giving you more tools in your toolkit other than running away like a baby.

ROUGUELITE MECHANICS

  • Perks and Augments: Completing your loot quotas will grant you access to different perks, all of which range from adding minor gameplay features to fundamentally changing how you engage with certain mechanics. Perks can be augmented with augments you find in the catacombs.
  • Adaptive Difficulty: The catacombs will adjust it's threat level depending on how strong you and your squad's initial loadout is.
