Why Early Access?

“At this stage in development I'm confident there is enough content to enjoy the world of StoicScape. There are still many ideas and features I would like to implement with the proper feedback from a larger community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to complete the game in 6 months. That being said, StoiScape will remain in early access until I'm satisfied with it.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I have a solid foundation of various dungeons, items, and gameplay mechanics. I want to expand upon parts of the game that players enjoy and scale back on features that are less popular. I can iterate on difficulties, maps, enemy types, enemy difficulties, items, armor, etc.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is single player with a global and weekly leaderboard, chat system to communicate with other players, and a questing system that I can update daily from the cloud. There are 5 playable dungeons, a tutorial, and gathering mode. The game also includes an in-game store and investing system for various essence types.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I don't plan on changing the price unless the scale dramatically changes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Your feedback will help me tailor and focus the game to make it as fun and interesting as possible. I'll be posting updates and interacting with players on the Discord server, YouTube channel, and my person twitch channel.”

About This Game

Recruited by a mysterious wanderer named Marcus Aurelius', battle through his daily dungeons to help him fill in the pages of his incomplete book "Meditations." Gather essence, purchase gear, fight enemies, and defeat various bosses while becoming a Stoic master.

Features:

  • Resource Management. Extract essence from each stoic trial in order to purchase stronger equipment. Experiment with various gear combinations to fit your unique playstyle while adjusting to different combat styles.

  • Daily trials and quests! Each day brings new quests to complete as you face each trial. The stoic trials are intense worlds that you must survive and complete in order to reap its rewards. For those that wish for a slower experience, you can always enter a relaxed, enemy-free, gathering mode to prepare for your next adventure.

  • Compete! Strive for excellence in global and weekly leaderboards. Top players are rewarded handsomely every week, adding a competitive edge to your philosophical journey.

  • Lo-fi Music lovers! Jam out to lo-fi beats as you gain experience, chat with friends, and chill out in your expansive world.

  • Share your experience. Use the global chat to discuss the philosophical question of the day with your fellow Stoic players.

  • Inventory Management. With over 20 items to collect in game, each player will need to make decisions about each combat scenario to give them the best chance at success!
