«Captain CoinCoin is a rather atypical personal project. Working on it alone, one of the things I miss the most is the lack of feedback from other players to know where to direct development.
At this stage of development, the game is stable and offers gameplay that seems viable to me. However, many changes can still be made without having to start from scratch. So it seemed like the right time to unveil a preview in Alpha.»

«Staying with a modest ambition, a little more than a year still seems necessary to me, bringing the release to the year 2025.»

«For the moment the new features planned to appear in the game are as follows:

  • Mission creation system by players in addition to map creation. So that players can create their own story campaigns.

  • Enlargement of the campaign map as the story or time progresses, allowing a new game area, new enemies or events to be introduced while maintaining the player's current progress.

  • Map sharing system so that players can easily exchange their creations.

  • New biomes to come and new disruptive elements on the campaign map (creatures, neutral factions wandering around the map, etc.)

  • Additional work will be done on the different models and more generally an improvement in the visual appearance.

  • Creation of a real scenario on my part, allowing you to follow a story for a few hours taking the place of a real campaign.

Of course, bug fixes will be carried out in parallel throughout development.»

«As it stands, the alpha offers a scripted campaign map, allowing you to discover the mechanics during two or three hours of play.
Players will be able to discover:

  • Base construction.

  • Harvesting different resources.

  • Management of recruitment and the base defense aspect (with tactical combat).

  • The creation and use of abilities, whether those of buildings or fighters.

  • Recovery and management of equipment.

  • The entire bonus/penalty system linked to morale and communications.

  • The impact of seasons on the campaign map and different biomes on tactical combat.

In addition to the campaign, an important aspect is to allow players to be able to create their own maps and play them, while waiting to be able to share them with other members of the community.

With this game, I wanted to create a strategy/tactics game requiring a little thought and offering different mechanics, while relying on a funny and cartoonish aesthetic.»

In Captain CoinCoin, help CoinCoin the brave farm duck defend the old farm where he and his friends were born.

Construct buildings, harvest resources, train fighters and plan tricks to repel, in turn-based battles, the strange machines that want your land.

Campaign map:


Help CoinCoin prepare defenses. Each day is divided into three stages, morning, day and evening. In the morning, you have the opportunity to see the upcoming movements of enemies. During the day, the fully recharged machines take action and rush towards their objectives. In the evening, everyone rests, allied and enemy fighters regain part of their life points.

Prepare to face the climate of the different seasons which will modify the map (freezing water in winter, windswept desert in autumn, etc.) and affect the collection of resources.



Establish outposts using relays so you can expand. Give room to your most advanced constructions to allow you to gain the upper hand over your enemies.

Combat and fighters:


Prepare tricks and powers in your utility buildings, such as ambushes or celebrations. This will be essential to ensure the good survival of your herd.
Be careful, if one of your fighters or one of your strongholds comes into contact with the enemy you will have to face him in a turn-based battle, the environment of which depends on the adjacent hexagons and offers different cover and obstacles.
Over time, your fighters will be able to acquire essential equipment and skills to overcome increasingly strong enemies. Use the supplies you have created to deploy all the ingenuity of your little recruits.



You will also have the opportunity to resolve battles automatically if the odds are in your favor. Here again, supplies can weigh in the balance, increasing your chances of victory.

Finally, create your own maps to explore all the possibilities and, thus, prepare yourself for the worst-case scenario.
