「The core reason for choosing the Early Access model is the desire to receive player feedback promptly during development – this helps refine game details more accurately, thereby improving development efficiency as well as the game’s completeness and quality. At the same time, This mode is also expected to allow more players to get in touch with and understand this game in advance,, enabling the game to be gradually polished to better meet everyone’s expectations with player participation.」

「Plans are in place to explore differences between the full version and the Early Access version from multiple aspects. For example, attempts will be made to add a more complete storyline, explore the introduction of new stages and character attack skills, and research the inclusion of new enemies (including more powerful bosses) and their corresponding skill mechanics. At the same time, continuous efforts will be made to optimize game balance, explore the addition of selectable characters, and improve the controllability and appearance of existing characters. These directions advanced gradually based on player feedback and actual development progress, with specific content updated as progress is made.​

「The current Early Access version has implemented a 3D level-clearing mode. Players can control one hero character to move and clear levels within the scene; during the level-clearing process, basic attacks and ultimate skills can be used, and defeating monsters along the way and the level boss result in victory for that round. Future updates gradually enrich existing gameplay details based on feedback.」

「We plan to gradually increase prices when releasing new content and features.」

Heroes of the Marshes: Water Margin Chronicles is based on the classic Chinese novel Water Margin. Step into the shoes of one of the 108 Heroes of Liangshan and experience the rivers and lakes of the Northern Song Dynasty through the 3D level-based adventure mode.​

The storyline faithfully recreates iconic moments from the novel—such as "Rescuing Lin Chong at Wild Boar Forest" and "Three Attacks on Zhu Village"—which are transformed into exclusive levels. Progress through levels to relive these classic tales. Character development is tightly linked to level progression: choose heroes to form a team based on level characteristics (e.g., Shi Qian for avoiding traps, Lu Zhishen for breaking heavy armor), and use rewards from levels to strengthen your heroes.​

All 3D level scenes (e.g., Mountain God Temple, Daming Mansion) are fully modeled, with interactive elements like destroying wooden bridges or hiding in bamboo groves. Combat requires flexible skill switching and 3D camera movement—for example, in the "Duel with Ximen Qing" level, you’ll need to anticipate attacks and command Wu Song to deliver a fatal strike with his signature moves. Team up with friends to challenge high-difficulty dungeons like "Breaking the Linked Cavalry" and work together to overcome traps and powerful bosses.​

Design​

The 3D graphics authentically depict the Northern Song Dynasty: bustling markets in Dongjing with dynamic vendors, shimmering waters and swaying reeds at Liangshan Marsh, and even physical effects for broken walls and falling leaves in levels. The 3D character models of the heroes are highly detailed—from the forging marks on Lu Zhishen’s iron staff to the cold glint of Lin Chong’s spear—with smooth combat animations (e.g., Lin Chong’s sweeping spear strikes, Lu Zhishen’s charged "willow-pulling" move).​

Combat effects are more stunning in 3D: Song Jiang’s "Hubaoyi" ability creates a golden aura around allies, Wu Song’s skills leave red afterimages, and bosses have clear warning auras for area attacks. The combination of environmental interactions and skill combos (e.g., Li Kui drawing aggro, Dai Zong flanking from behind, Gongsun Sheng unleashing area attacks) 直观 ly showcases the strategic charm of level-based combat.​
