In the eighth century of the Rikki era, the invention of the "Chanting Machine", a magical device capable of automatically chanting spells brought the entire continent into the industrial age of magic.

A variety of new automated magical devices rapidly entered the work and life of the people. What followed was the huge consumption of quartz resources, causing countries to fall into a fierce competition for quartz veins.
