« We’ve designed a game experience consisting of 12 episodes divided into 3 acts, with different endings. The narrative progress between episodes is shown through dynamic, interactive comics. We want feedback from as many users as possible, to improve the game and strike the right balance for the remaining episodes, delivering the best player experience possible. »

« We don’t want to extend this stage unnecessarily, and we plan to exit Early Access at the end of March 2024. »

« We plan to complete the 12 episodes of the story that’s already written in the script. That means doing the same job that we’ve already done with the first three episodes that can be played in this Early Access version. »

« The current Early Access version contains 3 of the 12 episodes which make up the whole story, and also includes 3 interactive comics. It incorporates the main features and mechanics, and these are progressively introduced in a naturalistic manner. The narrative unfolds to reveal an unexpected twist at the halfway point, unleashing the full potential of this psychological thriller with a hint of horror, and leading the player towards the exciting finale. »

Le prix du jeu sera-t-il différent pendant et après l'accès anticipé ?

« As the Early Access version represents approximately almost one third of the game, the current price will increase when we launch the full version. »

« We are very excited at the possibility of involving the Community in the process of developing and implementing our product. We are really interested in your suggestions about city locations to visit, different types of mission to complete, and new mechanics to enable players to interact with the vehicle in different ways. Rearview Mirror is a narrative videogame that takes place inside a car. A journey through the mean streets of a corrupt, hostile and dangerous world.

Rearview Mirror is about redemption and second chances. Can someone who took bad decisions repair the harm he caused? Can he change his path? Leaving the past behind depends on us. But if you can’t escape then it becomes a prison, and everything has its price.

Salvatore Marino, the protagonist of Rearview Mirror, lost everything because he remained true to his notions of honor and loyalty. Now that he has a second chance, can he escape his former life? Will he try to win back what he lost? What will he do when everything he always wanted is finally within reach? Will he succumb to temptation?

An opportunity: to rebuild his life.
Two options: to fall into temptation or to do the right thing.
Three dangers: his past, his passengers, and temptation.

Salvatore Marino became embroiled in the criminal underworld as a young man and ended up in jail when he refused to betray his comrades. He’s served his time and now he’s middle-aged. His time in prison has destroyed his relationship with his wife and his daughter. Now he has left behind the world of crime and wants to build an honest life, in the hope of repairing his relationship with them. But nobody wants to hire an ex-con. The only job offer he has comes from his former associates, but he doesn’t want to get mixed up in any more shady goings on. They promise him it’s straightforward. All he has to do is drive the car, pick people up, take them from one place to the next… he’s just the driver. Desperate and without any alternative, Salvatore accepts, but he soon realizes that the passengers on the back seat are involved in dirty business and he isn’t going to find it easy to stay clean. A mysterious woman will try to tempt him to convert his road trip into a descent into the underworld.

The plot of Rearview Mirror revolves around organized criminal activities in a large city. Some of the topics that are featured (either in text or as illustrated comics) refer to acts of political corruption, robbery, violence, threats, prostitution, sexual abuse, murder, and the consumption of drugs, together with issues of religious content. For these reasons, this game is only recommended for an adult audience.
