What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Transporter is an independently developed project created by one person in between his shifts in a factory. It turned out to be slightly more ambitious than I initially anticipated and even in Early Access, it is striving to be a competitive alternative to other, much larger, studio-developed titles in the genre. And the only way a project like this could achieve that is through Early Access.
I do not like using EA and wish I was able to develop the game without it, but that is simply not possible for me. I do believe that giving a chance to develop projects like this is exactly what Early Access was created for.

Using EA gives me the option to focus on optimizing the game and balancing the economy and difficulty while adding new features and improving the game in ways I would never be able to do otherwise.
The other reason is to see what the community would be interested in and give me a chance to directly add requested features and content into the game, in order to create the best transport sim game possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

6 - 12 months.
I don't want to stay in Early Access very long, but I have a certain idea of what I would like to add before any kind of full release. Hopefully, with your help, I'll be able to get there within this timeline.
Development will continue after full release as well.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Current plans include planes, different map environments with unique industries and vehicle sets, large maps support, and workshop integration.
The end goal for this game is to create AI competition, but that is still in the distant future.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

  • Procedurally generated maps, currently up to 768x768 tiles.
  • Freeplay and Career Mode.
  • Progression system with experience for stations, vehicles and industries.
  • Research, Company expertise and Upgrades
  • Rail, road, and water transport - Over 100 vehicles - trains, semi-trucks, buses, ships, and barges, including maglev trains, experimental hydrogen-powered locomotives, and electric autonomous vehicles.
  • Over 70 different industries and over 50 types of cargo to transport.
  • Unique station types, like refrigerated stations, loading docks, and different bulk-loading stations.
  • Level Editor for editing and creating custom maps

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Full release price will be slightly higher and might change during Early Access.
Final price will depend on how much content is added to the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Discord will most likely be the best place to reach me, make suggestions and requests, and for me to connect with the community. I’ll try to be active here on Steam as well, but to be honest, I probably won't be the most responsive dev ever, because the development process takes up way too much of my time, so Discord gives me a chance to gather everything in one place and turn your suggestions into reality more easily. I’m excited to see what people would like added into the game, especially in terms of vehicles, industries, and cargo and eventually even features, maps, scenarios, etc.”

About This Game

Transporter is the next step in the classic transport sim genre. Modern transport game with classic, old-school grid environment, and newest features and options. Combining realistic simulation with indie style to create a game that is easy to pick up and get into, but with enough depth and variety to remain interesting and satisfying for experienced transport sim players.

RAIL, ROAD AND WATER

Create new transport routes on rail, road and water. Stock industries with raw materials. Drive the production and economy. Deliver materials and cargo to consumers. Supply power plants to generate electricity. Watch cities grow, deliver their passengers across large maps, and build your own transport company.

ULTIMATE MODERN LOGISTICS

Utilize the latest technological advancements, like maglev trains, experimental hydrogen-powered locomotives, and electric autonomous vehicles to transport your cargo.

Dive into new features, like unique station types and cargo refrigeration, or create fully functional rail switching yards, customizable multi-trailer truck rigs with different trailers, or river barges with up to 9 different barges.

Combine all types of transport to create the most efficient transport infrastructure and build your perfect transport world.

Transporter offers more transport options than any other game. From simply letting the game automatically decide what cargo to transport based on vehicle route, detailed orders for each destination, to micromanaging orders for each individual car.

PASSENGER TRANSPORT REIMAGINED

Did you ever feel passenger transport options in other transport sim games were a bit lacking, compared to the plethora of options given to cargo transport? Then fret not, because Transporter is here to change that.

Using a destination-based system, intercity passengers spawn separately for each city. It will require the creation of robust transport networks to connect every town. You can also easily create specific lines for each destination, create passenger transfer stations, or let the system decide automatically.

Passenger trains can also transport new baggage cargo alongside passengers and utilize special railcar types, like sleepers, cafés, and diners for long-distance transport.

UNPARALLELED VARIETY

Transporter comes with over 70 different industries and over 50 types of cargo to transport (and more to come). From farms and mines to modern industries, like Material Recovery Facility that process recyclables or Electric Arc Furnace, which require electricity to turn scrap metal into steel, this variety ensures each new game offers new challenges to overcome.

Whether you decide to transport passengers with high-speed trains, transform raw materials into solar panels for a new solar farm, or deliver pharmaceutical material to a local hospital is up to you.

CAREER MODE, RESEARCH & PROGRESSION SYSTEM

Play the game in Freeplay Mode with all options unlocked or build your company from the ground up in the Career Mode. Unlock new transport options and upgrades through research. Stations, vehicles, and industries gain experience and unlock new upgrades or improve stat as the game progresses.

LEVEL AND SCENARIO EDITOR

Game features custom-made procedural terrain generation with tons of options to give you full control to create an endless variety of large maps for you to conquer. Maps currently support up to 768x768 tiles.

Not satisfied with the map you created? No problem. Edit them to your liking or create your own maps from scratch in the Level editor or create Scenarios with different goals and rules to create your own unique challenge.
