What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to establish this page as my platform to create and release small games over the next few years. About three quarters of the work to create the first game, "Heli," was in the backend framework code, which will be reused for my next games. I want to put this first game out now partly so I can test my backend code on various different machines and setups. In order to eliminate bugs before making more games.
I also want to gather feedback from players on my games before I launch them as "complete", so that I can evolve my game designs over time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm currently planning on 3 years, but that is a very loose estimate.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Currently this package includes 1 game, "Heli". That game is mostly complete, but I plan to update the design of that game based on player feedback. I plan to enhance my backend code framework to add some of the quality-of-life features which I expect players will request, such as key rebinding and controller support.
Before the end of early access, I plan to add any other small games I develop to this page, probably totaling around 5 games.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It is in an early prototype state. The first game, "Heli," is fully playable from beginning to end. However I plan to add a few features and tweak the gameplay based on feedback. I expect there to be many bugs to fix once this game is run on a variety of systems. I plan to add several more games to this page before Early Access is complete.
Please see the "About This" section for all current features included in the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I will probably increase the price after I've added a few more games to this package.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I want players' help identifying bugs, testing the games on a variety of systems, and providing feedback about the gameplay and other qualities of my games. I want players to identify important quality-of-life improvements in order for my games to be playable by more people. I plan to release the source code for my backend game framework to the public domain, and I am hoping to recommendations from any programmers in the community on improvements that can be made in that area.”

Source Code Available

I program these games from scratch in the C programming language, using only OS platform libraries. The source code for my game framework is in the public domain. The game-specific source code is available as a paid upgrade.

About This Game

This is my collection of small games, the kind which you might casually play when you wake up early on a Saturday morning.

Games included so far:

Heli - A 2d helicopter flying game where you rescue orphaned "Stompers" from rock-throwing, gun-toting worms. Stompers will stomp grapes to make wine at your base, which you can sell to buy upgrades.

More games to come!

Further details:

Heli

In Heli, you fly a helicopter across a procedurally generated terrain, picking up orphaned "Stompers" and grapes to bring back to your base. There, the Stompers will happily stomp your grapes, making barrels of wine which you can sell to buy upgrades for your helicopter and base! Use these upgrades, like enhanced shields and fire rate to take on the worms, who will throw rocks and shoot at your helicopter to take it down.

Heli is at times action-packed, when you have low ammo and are trying to rescue a Stomper from amidst several worms, and at times relaxed as you watch them stomp your grapes back at your base.

The goal of Heli is to save up enough money to purchase a spaceship, so that you can escape this nasty, worm-infested planet and take the poor Stompers to a new homeworld.
