What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“In order to create the best possible VR Boxing game, interaction with the users is essential. The feedback from the users with suggestions for improvements will be very valuable, and the possibility to test and introduce new functions, animations and opponents will be a super interesting workflow. I'm really looking forward to interact with the end users through live conversations as well as Steam and Discord interactions.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is to have a 6 months development period and to be able to launch version 1.0 in fall 2024. True Boxing VR will continue to be developed, and as the VR headset technology develops further the game will also improve.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early access version contains all main parts that are planned for the full version. The number of opponents will be limited, compared with planned 10 for the final version. The AI of the opponent is planned to be improved all through the Early Access period. With the help and feedback from the community the opponent will become both tough and fun to face in the virtual ring. More and further developed animations will constantly be updated all through the Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The development is about 80% finished in the Early Access version. The code is stable (of course bugs still needs to be fixed) and full functioning. The development roadmap includes additional features that will be introduced over the course of Early Access. This includes Career Mode and additional opponents.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It is planned to have a 50% price reduction for the early access version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is very important, and we are looking forward to continuing building on our communities around the game, encouraging the users to interact in our Discord and Steam community.
Discord Server is a very good way to get in touch us and interact with other users in the community:

About This Game

TrueBoxing VR brings real boxing experience into Virtual Reality. This game is developed by Boxers for Boxers. With its focus on realism, TrueBoxing VR delivers an authentic boxing experience that distinguishes itself from the exaggerated portrayals seen in other games and movies.

USING THE HAND CONTROLLERS

The following section describes how you use the hand controllers in the game.

Move: Besides using your feet, you can move using the Left Controller Joystick. this is very handy for example in a tight room Scale environment.

Rotate: Besides turning your own body you can rotate using the Righ Controller Joystick.

Block Punches: You can block the opponenst punches by holding upp your guard and pressing the Grab button on the left or right controller, depending on which punch from the opponent you want to block. This is especially useful if the opponent moves into infight, where it it will be difficult to move away from the opponents punches.

Getting up from a knockdown: If you get knocked down by the opponent you wil see a progressbar in the lower part of the screen. Pres the A button rappidly on the right controller to increase the green bar on the progress bar. When you have filled the bar the fight will continue. If you are knockeddown 3 times in the same round you will loose by TKO.

Displaying Hand Menu: To make the hand menu visible pres the Y button onm the left controller, and point with the right controllersd trace line to choose the action you want. Press the right hand trigger tho activate the choice.

The gameis divided into 3 different secions:
1) The Gym
2) Direct Fight
3) Career Mode

THE GYM

In the Gym you will be able to train, and prepare for the fights under the supervision of a coach. Here you will be able to choose from a range of training activities to improve your Boxing skills and technique. These exercises are based on activities that boxers perform on a daily basis in a real life gym:

  • -Padwork with a coach: Practice combinations and improve your accuracy and timing as you train with a virtual coach who provides guidance and feedback.
  • -Controlled sparring exercises: Participate in controlled sparring exercises that focus on specific aspects of boxing, such as defensive slips, counterpunching, and ring control.
  • -Free Sparring sessions: Engage in realistic sparring against virtual opponents of varying skill levels, honing your defensive maneuvers, and sharpening your offensive strategies, all to improve your boxing skills for any upcoming fight.

DIRECT FIGHT

Direct fight mode: Jump straight into the action with the direct fight mode, where you can select your opponent, customize the settings, and engage in an intense match without the progression of the career mode.

CAREER MODE

Embark on a journey from unranked newbie to world champion as you progress through a realistic career mode, facing tough opponents and making strategic decisions to advance your boxing career.
By defeating opponents and achieving victories, you’ll earn ranking points that will propel you up the ladder. Progress through regional, national, and international rankings, all while facing increasingly skilled and challenging opponents.

DEMO MODE

There is a Demo mode for download. In the demo you can go a 3 rounder fight against a relatively "easy to beat" opponent.
In the setup menu you have to put in your height, choose round length and input if you are left or right handed. This controls if you want to fight as a Southpaw or as an Orthodox stanced boxer.
