You play as Stormy, a hard-hitting, fist-wielding little monster who shows up under our bed at night to protect us from our nightmares. As a monster in training, Stormy aspires to be a master nightmare hunter and when his realm gets invaded by these spirits, he gets an opportunity to prove himself. Contrary to popular belief, a monster’s duty is not to scare us but to help us.

Unlock zones, progress to new realms, purchase special attacks, defeat unique bosses, and unlock cosmetics in the hub world. This hub world represents the void between each realm and portal. As you cleanse each realm of nightmares you'll damage realm barriers that will unlock new bosses and realms. The goal is to reach the Dark Overseer who's responsible for conjuring spirits and sending them to the human realm.

Getting fed up with the monster’s interference, the nightmare spirits invade the monster realm, targeting and capturing the realm’s best nightmare hunters. Caught in the middle of this during training, Stormy rushes to save his friends. Once rescued, monster friends can be summoned to help you in battle.
