Through the Early Access mode, players can experience the current version's content while also helping us co-create a work we can truly be proud of through their feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game is planned to have 14 chapters of story content in total, but currently only the first three chapters have been completed.
In addition, we plan to make some optimizations to the usability of features during future development, in order to provide a smoother playing experience.
Apart from differences in story richness, there is no significant difference in features and gameplay between the full version and the Early Access version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The overall framework has been completed, and the storyline content for the first three chapters has been finished.”

About This Game

In the first year of the Shenlong Era, Zhang Jianzhi, Yuan Shuji, and their allies launched the historic "Shenlong Coup," forcing Empress Wu Zetian to abdicate and restoring Crown Prince Li Xian to the throne.

Yet, the new Emperor’s ascension did not usher in an era of prosperity. Instead, undercurrents surged as various factions bided their time.

Conspiracies, assassinations, coups, and armed mutinies.

Filthy blood stains the golden halls, while pure white flowers bloom amidst the smoldering ruins.

The protagonist—you—were once a mere Jinwu Guard patrolling the streets, only to be swept into a catastrophic web of intrigue.

Between loyalty and betrayal, love and desire, cold calculation and innate kindness.

Follow the choices of your heart to forge a "historical destiny" that belongs to you alone.

<Phoenix in Flames: A Fateful Misdressing> is a solo project I’ve poured my heart into.

The script is my own original creation, though I’ve utilized AI for a significant portion of the art and coding. To be honest, it is only through the power of AI that I was able to turn my vision into a reality as a lone developer.

Regarding Copyright: I take this very seriously. If there are any concerns regarding the generated content, please reach out. I am more than willing to communicate, replace assets, or discuss compensation.

I embrace AI as a creative partner, but I want to emphasize that the soul of the story—the writing—is 100% mine. I hope you can enjoy this journey without any reservations.

Why Early Access?

As I mentioned, because the script is entirely original, I am eager to hear your feedback. Rather than "creating in a vacuum" and indulging in my own vision, I believe it is far more valuable to meet my players early and refine the game based on your real-world experiences.

A Commitment to Stability

I am well aware of the reputation Early Access has—the "abandoned projects" and "broken promises." However, I want to put your mind at ease for two reasons:

  • No Financial Pressure: Thanks to the extensive use of AI for art and programming, my overhead costs are minimal. I am not driven by immediate revenue, which allows me to focus purely on quality.

  • Experienced Development: This is not my first time making a game. I have a realistic understanding of the workload and the development cycle.

With both the time and the resources secured, I am committed to a stable and consistent update schedule.

Content Roadmap

  • Main Story: 12 Chapters. This epic spans 8 years of historical turmoil, from the 1st year of Shenlong (705 AD) to the 2nd year of Xiantian (713 AD), following the protagonist’s struggles and life-altering choices.

  • Character Stories: 5-6 Chapters each. These side stories focus on the personal journeys of major characters, adding depth and perspective to the main plot.

Goal: I expect to complete all major narrative updates by December 2026.
