About This Game

PILLORY is a surreal indie RPG with unique turn-based mood battles, set in a neglected afterlife.

Between life and death is a bridge - above it lies holy Promontory. Below it, "The Cavity".
The guardians of Promontory were tasked to maintain it, but have since become complacent.

You are a lost creature, trapped at the bottom of it.

On your journey, you will meet strange friends, and even stranger foes.
Some are like you - lost, scrambling to understand why they exist.
Some are complacent, careless in their afterlife.
Some might want to hurt you.

In battle, you and your party members get ideas on what they want to do for their turn.
You can either approve their idea, or have them try again... at the cost of their mental state.
Most that will oppose you have a weakness to one of the three damage types - finding it is key.

If your mood becomes too extreme, either in the positive or negative, terrible things can happen.
Managing mood and avoiding gaining or eroding too much is key to navigating combat.
