ITAT is an asymmetric game where players lead a nomadic tribe whose identity is shaped by actions of its clans, their equipment and art. The focus is on interacting with a rich ecosystem and developing a unique culture, rather than engaging in combat or territorial domination.

The land breathes with life, from herds of thundering mammoths to cunning sabre-toothed tigers. From tiny scorpions to giant sloths. Find your niche in this living world. Traverse sprawling landscapes of primeval grasslands, forests, rivers, deserts and marshes. Explore the land to uncover new resources, hidden wonders and ancient dangers.

The world offers sustenance in many forms. Forage, scavenge and hunt to provide food. Cook to make more nutritious meals. Design clan diet to suit your needs and beliefs. Protect yourself from the elements, predator attacks and other dangers through migration and adaptive tactics. Manage your camp, for it provides shelter and shared inventory.

Culture is the soul of your tribe, shaping its unique identity. Your culture is a living creation, born from combining three elements: traditions (accumulated clan knowledge), concepts (core beliefs and worldviews) and motifs you witness on your journey. Tell stories, perform dances and craft artefacts to gain tangible gameplay benefits.

The land yields wood, stone, bone, fibre and many other materials. Gather and transform them into essential tools, protective clothing and cultural artefacts. Equip your clans to specialise them for specific roles like the tireless forager, wise shaman or skilled artisan. Discover ideas to gain new recipes and learn to use new resources.

The earth itself is your canvas. Construct bonfires to protect yourself from predators, sacred shrines for shamanic practices and enduring monuments to honour your heritage. Paint caves and carve trees to depict your deepest beliefs and favourite stories. Each construction, carving and painting becomes a new landmark, a testament to your existence.

All creation hums with unseen spirits. Command your shamans to perform sacred rites. Enter a trance to spirit-walk alongside the great beasts, learning their ways and earning their aid. Calm the restless spirits or appease the mighty titans. In your greatest moments of need, call upon the primeval powers for visions, protection or retribution.

As the tribe attunes to the spirit world, they will find themselves engaged with it - for both good and bad. Meet mythological animals that may help or hinder the tribe.
