Story Overview

Suffocated by the tedium of her townie life, Sunflower is eager to chase down adventure. However, when she stumbles upon a magical petal: an ancient artifact with an unwieldy power, a fragment of a long forgotten legend, and evidence of a grand conspiracy, she realizes she may have gotten exactly what she signed up for.

Gameplay

Party Based Puzzles: Sunflower is one of 6 playable characters. Each party member has unique abilities, attacks, skills, and attributes. Frequently swap between your party to solve puzzles in the overworld, or to successfully dodge enemy attacks in combat.

Journal, Quests, Non-playable Characters: Most everything and everyone you meet in Daisy Grotto is recorded into Sunflower's Journal. Your progress is tangibly measured along with flavorful blurbs about the game's characters and areas. The story itself is a rich narrative involving interactive dialogues between the cast of playable part members and non-playable characters alike.

Collectables, Crafted Items, and Charms: From berries hidden in bushes, to shattered insect carapaces, you never know what may be of use to you on your quest. Store it all in your upgradable inventory until you discover the perfect recipe or blueprint to create an item for combat or healing. Charms are passively activated for bonuses in battle to cater to your unique play style.

Hybrid Real-time/Turn-based Combat: Combat will begin when an enemy is encountered directly in the overworld. Be sure to get the drop on your foes, as attacking first grants an advantage in battle. The player attacks first after the initial encounter, and can freely switch between their party members to select the optimal attack or employ cross-character strategies. Certain characters may have advantages over others depending on the situation or enemy, so use character switching to your advantage! Player characters use a variety of attacks and skills: ace the quick time actions for maximum effectiveness. When the enemy is attacking, the active player character is able to crouch, jump, and use their abilities to mitigate damage.

Skills, Status Effects, Stat Modifiers: There are many strategic elements traditional to RPGs. Each character gains experience when they defeat enemies in combat allowing them to level up and unlock skills. Three can be chosen at any time for the character's active moveset. Mix and match skills to make a well-rounded team capable of covering each other's weaknesses and highlighting each other's strengths.
