Rune Song is a 2D action / adventure platformer with an emphasis on fluid movement, a unique cast of vibrant characters, and light combat elements! Inspired by games such as Celeste, Shovel Knight, and Night In The Woods, Rune Song aims to blend well crafted level design with alluring dialogues and simple but satisfying player movement!

You play as Baba, a fledgling wizard working at his grandparents magical bakery. After a gang of notorious pastry thieves loot the restaurant, it's up to you to traverse a mysterious whimsical world, navigate intricate challenges, and track the thieves to their den for some well deserved payback!

Run, jump, swim, and crawl your way through a dozen handcrafted stages, each consisting of beautifully stylized pixel art with an attention to subtle details. Every location is wholly unique with stage specific environments, mechanics, and characters!

It's not all pastry parties and friendly faces in the world of Rune Song. Ranging from the most minor of slimes to a literal god of death, Baba will have plenty of foes to overcome with his trusty fireball spell! Just don't forget to manage your mana bar!

During your adventures, you'll experience the heart of what Rune Song has to offer, the unique array of memorable characters that inhabit the world. Running the gamut from friendly and endearing to goofy and slightly unhinged, there's no shortage of interesting characters to interact with! Or don't! Most dialogues are completely optional!

Every location is teeming with treasures and gold coins just waiting to be discovered. The further you venture off the beaten path, the more you'll be rewarded! Loot is the only way to upgrade your character and more importantly, have the funds for the biggest and best pastry party around! 

If variety is the spice of life, then Rune Song is a veritable witches brew of optional side quests! One of which consists of helping a witch complete her witches brew! There's always someone who could use a hand so make sure to do your part if you're feeling generous, you may even be rewarded!

Who doesn't love a good secret? I'll let slip a little something right now by telling you that Rune Song has loads of hidden locations, secret treasure chests, and tucked away challenge gauntlets! Players with a keen eye and sense of discovery will always have a reason to closely examine their surroundings!
