Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game I'm working on is the first of its kind in the cursor-chaser genre: a game where you control two characters at once, and must use your cursor to guide the other character while keeping the cursor safe. This involves a lot of focus from the player and skills unique to the genre, as such I need to gain feedback from players to understand what they want from this type of gameplay and how it can be improved. I am hoping to find a community of player interested in engaging with this type of challenge and work with them to make this game the best that it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“One year”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current version features chapters 1-7 of the game. The full version is planned to have chapters 8 and 9, which means adding the Sealed Memories (Southwest of the map), Black Sun, and the rest of the Wall. A workable version of these areas currently exists, but I don't want to publish them until they're in a state where I'm completely satisfied with them. Most importantly, I plan to make mechanical/content/narrative changes to the chapters currently available in Early Access in accordance with player feedback, and to use this information to refine the last chapters. Additionally, I plan to improve the art for the flashbacks.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first ~80% of the game is playable, but mostly unpolished, so you might encounter glitches and suboptimal game design. All features that will be available in the full game are available in the current release; see the "About This Game" section for more information on these features.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“A price change is not planned and I do not currently see a world where I would increase the price. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be responding to all feedback I receive from my Early Access build, as well as asking my community what they want on my Discord. I am also reachable on X and through email. I will also check the Steam discussion boards. Community feedback will impact the final chapters of the game, effect small to medium changes in the part of the game in prerelease, identify bugs to be fixed, and inspire changes to the art, music, and narrative. ”

About This Game

Enter the Forsaken World

Venture into a desolate land where every step of progress must be earned through struggle. At every step of the way, see new beauties, uncover new mysteries, and hone your skill at a uniquely challenging one-of-a-kind experience where you must defend your cursor without letting yourself get too close to it. Journey through a great maze of caverns, windswept plains, and ruined forests—as stopping means death, you have no other choice. Find forgotten memories that grant ancient powers. Hear the messages of the Wall's master. Defy him, and make your way through its ramparts and towers. Are you ready for what’s at the top?

Core mechanics

  • Your character always follows your cursor

  • If your character and cursor touch, you will take damage

  • If your character runs into a wall, you will take damage

  • The character and cursor share a health pool. If they run out of health, you die

  • After dying, you respawn at the start of the current room, only seconds back

  • Monsters move throughout the world and will try to hurt you in unique ways

  • Monsters damage you by either directly hitting your cursor, or using attacks to hurt your cursor from afar (except for [REDACTED])

  • Hitting an enemy with your character damages it, and deflects your character backwards

  • As you progress, you can learn additional ways to damage monsters

  • Killing monsters grants EXP, which can increase things like health, damage, and acceleration

Game features

  • Tight action gameplay filled with tactical decision making

  • Choose your own level of suffering! Difficulties range from “Painkiller” to “Everything hurts"

  • Expressive hand-drawn art for all sprites and levels with a deliberately janky aesthetic

  • A sometimes brooding, sometimes epic soundtrack to echo your journey through an unforgiving world

  • Push through perilous passageways

  • Fight fearsome foes

  • Find fragments of (alas, non-alliteratively) the past scattered throughout the world, and internalize them to gain new powers and open new paths

  • Discover [REDACTED]’s [REDACTED]s

By the Numbers

  • Over 400 perilous levels, spread out across twelve mechanically and visually unique areas, from a lake infested with a swarm of tenticles, to [REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED], to a shadowy domain filled with spiders—and worse

  • 40+ monsters with unique attack patterns, from giant swords that swing to attack you, to organs of pollution that drown you in clouds of smoke, to friendly hearts that share the gift of love with you (this gift is delivered in the form of a deadly laser)

  • 40 levels with unique benefits to be gained (uhm, technically, you can only gain 39 levels because you start at level 1)

  • 13 gripping boss fights

  • Possibly a few disappointing ones too

  • Over two hundred cosmetic collectables to be acquired through our slot machine loot box system which can be obtained by winning 10 battle royale games or by spending your parents' money

  • 1 bullet point directly above this one that is not actually true

  • One Wall, to be destroyed
