Why Early Access?

“We have self-funded development of Private Dick to date, assembling a team of artists, actors and composers, building out the demo, and preparing the Early Access launch. It's taken us over a year to get to this point - and we're super proud of what we've managed to create.

We've already delivered a unique, sexy and highly polished experienced. With Early Access, we can push the envelope out even further and build a bigger, better game.

Early Access enables is to continue to fund the game to its completion. A healthy campaign will enable the development team to spend more time on the game, as well as funding more art, music and voiceovers.

We are also excited to bring players into the experience early, to build a relationship with the community and listen to fan feedback as we fill out the story and expand the characters. Early access gives us a unique opportunity to listen to our fans and pivot the game to deliver the best possible experience, focusing on the features, characters and story lines that our players want.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to release the full game by mid-2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The initial Early Access build represents just the beginning of the story.

The plot of Private Dick has been fully planned out: we know exactly where the story is going, and when and where the major beats will land (subject to player feedback, or course!). We also have ambitious plans for side content which goes beyond the main story.

Over the next year, we'll be expanding the game by adding these new stories (or Cases), along with a diverse host of new characters. All fully voiced.

As the game develops, we'll also be introducing a whole alternate reality through the social media interface. This virtual world will reflect events that occur in the main game, as well as giving extra insight into the characters and world of Private Dick. There will even be subplots which unfold entirely in social media - all served up with unique and beautiful hand-drawn art.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access build serves mostly as an introduction to the game's major characters, themes and features. It includes about 20% of the game's expected content (with several sex scenes), is fully voiced, and contains an original musical score.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the price when the game releases out of early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be posting regular developer updates though Steam, seeking to actively engage and inform the community. This is an ideal way to track feedback on the story and characters, helping us to make the game even better.

We'll also be paying attention to and interacting with the Steam community discussion forums, as well as communities on Twitter and Reddit. A Discord server is a likely addition as the community grows.”
