Shanghai 1920-XZ is a 2.5D action-adventure game based on Chinese mythology with a story-driven plot. In the game, monsters from mythology appear in the real world, filled with hatred and resentment towards humans. Players take on the role of a police officer who must explore and save the world, uncover the reason for the monsters' appearance, and explore the truth behind the chaos.

In the game, players can experience unique 2.5D combat from different skill combinations. By defeating monsters, players can collect their crystallized power to equip themselves and create unique combat experiences with various combinations of skills and crystals. In terms of storytelling, players have great freedom to explore the game world and collect details to enrich their understanding of the game's world view. Additionally, the game has a main storyline that drives players forward, so players don't have to worry about getting lost or stuck in a particular game stage.

Shanghai 1920-XZ is a sequel to the visual novel game Shanghai 1920, but players can fully enjoy this game without having played the previous title. Although the game is titled Shanghai 1920, it has no relation to the actual city of Shanghai and is only inspired by the materials from the 1920s.
