What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The initial release (March 2023) of the game is a "vertical slice" released as an Early Access version: an initial version of all the moving parts, and a fully playable tutorial level. I'm looking to gather feedback as well as gauge interest for a complete version of the game, to steer any further development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Since this is my first game and a side-project at that, it might stay in Early Access for a considerable amount of time. It should take several months up to a year to complete a full version of the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version of the game should be considered a "Fully Functional Prototype", built to gather feedback. The full version of the game should both receive a lot more polish, as well as a ton more Machines ("worlds") and levels, plus a bunch extra pinball machine components and features.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access release from March 2023 (and any subsequent updates in the Early Access phase) will be a fully functional game demonstrating the core mechanics.

The "About This" section will contain the up to date list of features for the current (Early Access) version of the game, so please refer to that section if you're curious about what you'll get if you get the Early Access version of Pincrediball.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be free during Early Access, as a "thank you" for taking the time to have a go at it. The full final release on Steam will possibly be a paid game, but at a very small price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback from the community (of any kind: bugs, feature suggestions, improvements, and whatnot) will all be considered for the full version of the game. Can't promise each and every bit will make it into the final game, but will be sure to properly consider it!

On the Pincrediball website you can find all the various ways to contact us and let us know what kind of suggestions you have. The links will include both our Twitter account (@pincrediball) and on Mastodon (@pincrediball@mastodon.social).”

About This Game

Pincrediball is a fun twist on the pinball game genre. You design the Pinball machine, and the Automata Pinball Wizard follows a "Playbook" to play your design. Achieve High Scores and earn medals to advance levels.

When is it coming out!?

The current version is being released as "Early Access", it's a fully playable Tutorial of the game. Depending on early access feedback, wishlists, and other input the plan is to create a more complete version of the game for after Early Access.

How to play

Think of a "Machine" as a "World" with stages (or "levels"). At each level you unlock new components to add to the Pinball machine. Place these components in the right spots on the machine, and hit "Run Playbook" to see what score it gets you.

With some tiny spoilers, here's one way to handle the Tutorial Machine's final stage:

Every playbook must end by draining the ball (at the bottom of the machine) within the given time limit. If you succeed, your score will count and gets you a bronze, silver, or even gold medal if you cross a certain target. At least bronze is needed to advance a level.

Going for silver and gold after bronze? Or advance to the next level? It's your choice! And you could also go back to go full completionist on a level!!

What is included?

Pincrediball has many features, including (but not limited to):

  • A Tutorial Machine (a "world") with several levels to play.
  • Target scores (bronze, silver, gold) and a progression system, based on high scores.
  • A multi-multi-multi-ball "Stress Test" mode to test your setup, or just for fun!

The trailer showcases all these features as well as many others.
