Dolven is a Tactical RPG where players lead a band of mercenaries sworn to defeat a powerful necromancer and end the evil plaguing the land. The game features a unique card-based combat system, where players form strategic hand combos, cast spells, and influence the battlefield. The goal is to uncover the necromancer’s dark secrets and stop the ancient evil threatening to consume the world.

Card battles include hand-to-hand combat and the cards provide characters with additional skills. What sets Dolven apart is its innovative and strategic card play mechanics, which add a touch of nostalgia by incorporating elements of classic poker.

Players form hand combos, such as pairs, doubles, straight flushes, and flushes, to earn mana bonus's and also add to the players overall point score on the leader board.

Each character in Dolven belongs to one of six distinct classes: Archer, Cleric, Guardian, Mage, Rogue, or Warrior. These classes are divided into three archetypes—Strength, Intellect, and Agility—each offering a unique set of skills and abilities to master.

Success on the battlefield hinges on strategic decisions, as playing to each character's strengths while managing their weaknesses is crucial. Every choice carries weight, and a single misstep can lead to dire consequences.

Strategically plan your moves to create powerful hand combinations on the Pillars, unlocking mana and earning valuable rewards. Each of the three cards are suited by color Red, Green and Blue. These colors represent their Archetype Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence.  Arrange cards on the pillars to form hands like pairs, flushes, or straight flushes.

As you battle through the maze of dungeons, customize your deck to maximize your combat potential. Making smart card choices is essential—consider the card class and character archetype to optimize your strategy and gain the upper hand in battle.

Adventure into the dungeons of the Decaying Isle

In Dolven, players lead a band of mercenaries who, burdened by years of selling their skills for profit, have taken an Oath of Righteousness to rid the world of evil and protect the innocent. Driven by regret, they journey to the cursed land of Dolven, where villagers have begun to disappear, and undead creatures haunt the ruins. As they uncover the dark truth, they learn that a powerful necromancer, drawing strength from an ancient, mysterious evil hidden within a crypt, is behind the growing darkness. The mercenaries must now confront this malevolent force, find the crypt and end the evil threatening to consume the land.

With fear wracking the minds of the townsfolk, a pious priest offers to protect the frightened people. And yet, even with his holy powers, the disappearances continue to occur. Tensions rise when the town blacksmith’s daughter is abducted by a werewolf. Thus, the band of mercenaries delves into the dungeons of the Decaying Isle to save the girl and in doing so they will uncover the cause of recent terrors.

There are six possible endings and the player decides the fate of Dolven. 

As you progress through the game, you’ll collect gear that can be used to affect the cards in your deck. Likewise, cards can also affect the gear you have equipped, allowing you to create a party that truly fits your playstyle. Use your character's skills to engage in tactical battles on a 6x4 grid against a variety of enemies, each with its own unique strengths and weaknesses. In the dungeons, you will have to have your wits about you to solve puzzles and decipher clues that will help you progress in the game. Some dungeon rooms are escape rooms where you will need to find a way out or release a captured prisoner.
