About This Game

Lockstone Mountains is a top-down, action-adventure, skill oriented game in which you Pilot large flying vessels in inhospitable skies. These floating vessels are controlled using a signature rudder-and-keel system with a physics-based flying model. Guns, cannons, missile launchers and much more are at your disposition to fight back swarms of enemies. Sails the winds along with other members of the Rook expedition, and uncover the secrets of the world of Lockstone Mountains, which is set in a hard-fantasy science-based steampunk setting.

Where's the autopilot?

In Lockstone Mountains, your ship doesn't magically move where you point. Ship movement is completely physics based, and you only control the thrust of your motors and the orientation of your rudder. Handling of every hull will vary greatly, based on the rudder and keel positions. Heavier ships lumber through clusters and drift around while nimbler ships cut through the wind and corner effortlessly. Find the right ship for the job at the shipyard and outfit it with your preferred stations!

Complete Your Arsenal!

The wealth of dangers roaming the skies are only matched by the expedition's ingenuity. Expand your arsenal to counter every threat you discover. From small mounted rifles to high-yield proximity detonated missiles, the sky is quite literally the limit! Every hull has a unique combination of hardpoints, each with weapon classes and a set cone of fire. Experiment with hulls and loadout to find the combination that works for you!

Ride the Currents

Any sailing enthusiast would shake their screen and yell -- No! You can't use a sail on a flying ship! To this we say : at ease Pilot! With the inclusion of lock crystals, a material that resists any movement, physically simulated sailing becomes possible even in the sky itself. Catching the wind with the sail while resisting its pull with a lockstone keel and rudder lets the sailship move crosswind and - with enough skill - even upwind!

We don't call it Booty here...

While exploring the world of Lockstone Mountains, you will come across useful materials in the form of either loot or resources. Some loot inspire new reseach projets, while resources give you the means to complete them. Some resources grow back over differing timescales while others can only be picked up once. Take note of useful resource locations and visit your favorite clusters often!

How close is it to being done

As you can see the game is still in development. I am a solo developper working part-time on this game, but if enough interest is garnered I will be able to hire a professional artist and maybe get in contact with a publisher. All forms of feedback are welcome on the discord server and every wishlist is appreciated.
