Kara is a rich educated girl looking for her place in life. She dreams of making life in the city better and in many ways does not agree with the existing rules. She sincerely wants to save the inhabitants from the impending threat.



Sora is Kara's loyal friend and guardian. A slave in the past and now the most dangerous of the Shining City's warriors. He has lost his freedom and his ability to make choices. Perhaps Kara can fix that?



Kalem is a miraculously surviving merchant that Kara and her company met in the desert. Charming, well-read, romantic, but at the same time, little is known about him.
