1999 HAVENBROOK, UNITED STATES.

While investigating the disappearance of Isabelle Nox, journalist Janet Sheperd returns to Havenbrook, the town she once called home.

Hidden deep within the surrounding forest stands an abandoned institutional building, long sealed and officially erased from local records. Years ago, a reclusive cult occupied the structure, preaching that the forest could grant rebirth and absolution. Then, without warning, they vanished.

Janet enters the decaying complex to document what remains.

Inside, all contact is lost.

What survives are fragmented walkie-talkie transmissions, distorted recordings, and journals that suggest the cult was preparing for something they called “the return of the Savior.” As Janet explores the crumbling corridors, time begins to fracture. Rooms shift. Events repeat. Voices overlap. Some transmissions echo from the building’s final days. Others seem to come from somewhere closer, somewhere familiar.

The deeper Janet goes, the more the structure begins to mirror her past. Hallways resemble rooms from her childhood. Objects from her family home appear where they shouldn’t exist.

To uncover what happened to Isabelle Nox, Janet must piece together the cult’s final ritual, and confront why the path through the forest always leads back to her family’s house.
