Waarom vroegtijdige toegang?

'Bringing a title from the mobile game space onto PC is never easy, as the former has a lot more restrictions. We'd like to explore how the game is perceived from the user-perspective in order to craft true cross-platform experiences that can be enjoyed whatever the input device.'

Hoelang blijft dit spel ongeveer in vroegtijdige toegang?

'We anticipate the Early Access phase to last 2-3 months, depending on quantity and quality of feedback as well as insights gained by game behavioral analytics. The time might extend if deem the user experience not sufficiently pleasant when it comes to control sets (e.g. inventory management) or game design such as pacing through content.'

Hoe gaat de volledige versie verschillen van de versie met vroegtijdige toegang?

'As some of the earliest additions we're planning are controller support and an incrementally more social experience with guilds, chat, leaderboards, and we strive to to provide a seamless game save between PC and mobile platforms. We would like to achieve this in a privacy-friendly way, without the need of a dedicated sign-up or registration with a social network.'

'The game version is very much in sync with the mobile version. Steam users will have access to the same live ops seasonal events, the same game content additions, and benefit from one year of live experience in running the handheld edition.'

'We're counting on the Steam Early Access community in having their say on game experience as a whole. Playing on PC is tremendously different to mobile when it comes to input and movement fidelity, in length of playtime of a gaming session - and thus impacting how the game economy is designed -, but also how the quicker movement possibility with lower input latency affects the fun and challenge part of our game.

Gladiators: Survival in Rome is an Action RPG with casual survival game mechanics and big city-building possibilities. You'll experience a new type of survival game with quests, continuous open world progression, monthly events and your dumb ways to die not harming your fun level.

🏹 Survival Games, casualized

Chop every tree, hunt rabbits and deer, stone and copper mining - resource management are a staple of every survival game, and Gladiators is no different. However, we threw away the hunger games in favor of a replenishing stamina pool so you can start every game session on exploration instead of just preventing yourself from dying.

🏛️ Build your own Roman village

From setting up your first camp to building an entire Roman city, you'll be pretty busy making a home for yourself and all the rescued slaves that turn up to settle as workers. Manage their resource refining jobs, build houses and beautify the city with fountains and other decor.

⚔️ Carry a big stick (mind the pointy end)

Craft your weaponry from a selection of clubs, axes, bows, spears and more. Upgrade them to make pointy ends even more pointy, embellish your craft with gems and their attributes, and poke around at Roman legions, bandit bosses and other generally unfriendly folk.

🗺️ Explore Rome and its dungeons

Dive into dark caves and unravel the story of Proserpina, better known in Greek mythology as Persephone; lead the siege to the stronghold of Castrum, or rebuild the ancient city of Perugia. Learning about history has never been more fun!
