The consequences of ecological disasters and nuclear war have intertwined, creating a bizarre web of climatic and social anomalies. Civilization has come to the brink of destruction: industry lies in ruins, warfare and epidemics have claimed the lives of billions.

But even among the ruins of the old world, the struggle continues. In the corridors of military bases and secret research laboratories, their inhabitants struggle to survive: soldiers, scientists, sentient machines, and genetic prototypes whose existence became possible only through a mix of progress and despair. Alongside them are those whose lives are marked by no heroic deeds — people trapped in a closed circle of circumstances where choice is often only an illusion. Their tragedies form the backdrop against which events unfold.

Story
