Why Early Access?

“This started for me as computer vision/semi-intelligence research, but I also liked just flying through the trees and trying to land on branches. There are several directions the game could go, it would be good to get community feedback on those directions. Also experimenting with a gliding course (min energy)”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Three months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“It might be purely time trial/racing. It could be bird training via computer vision (you can see the vision processing by enabling in settings, after that 0:see output, 9:motion detection, 8:line intersections, 7 movement blobs, the actual interpretation of vision primitives happens in a different module which is not currently included).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The track time trial aspect is fully functional, users can race the bird around premade courses or create a new course by placing waypoints. You can just free fly across the hills and through the trees. There is also spot landing, slalom, gathering from trees and train. There is also a gliding/soaring course that is scored on remaining energy”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Probably there will be an increase in price after early access as more features are coded in.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The comments and suggestions of the community will be used to expand the game in the most popular direction.”

Small Bird Forest is a simple, single person bird flying simulation/racing (Speedrun) and gliding game. Fly set courses or create your own course. Free fly and try and land in trees and gather bonus berries.
