What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I've chosen Early Access as a crucial step in bringing my first main project to life. This approach allows me to release the game in stages, with each chapter or case unveiled progressively. This method not only helps in managing the development workload but also in gauging player reactions and feedback at each step.

Early Access provides a unique opportunity for me to engage directly with the community. Your feedback will be invaluable in shaping the narrative, mechanics, and balance of the game. While I have a clear vision for the game, I'm open to considering thoughtful adjustments based on player insights, where they align with the game's overall direction. This collaborative process is not just about building a game; it's about creating an experience that resonates with and excites our players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

Updated Timeline: Starting as a solo developer, my aim was a full release by Q1 2024. However, thanks to funding from Screenwest’s Digital Games Production Fund, I'm now expanding the team. This is a major leap, bringing more resources and fresh ideas to the project. Consequently, we're adjusting our exit from Early Access to Q3 2024. This extension is key to delivering a more polished and immersive game. I appreciate your support and patience during this exciting transition.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The goal is to methodically release three chapters, gradually building the game’s full narrative arc. Alongside these major updates, I'll be dedicating effort to continuous minor enhancements, particularly in the realms of art and mechanics. This consistent refinement is designed to elevate the player's experience incrementally, keeping the game fresh and engaging throughout its evolution.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

Early Access Progress Report: Currently, Chapter One is available in Early Access, having undergone improvements in UI and mechanics. As development progresses, especially with the creation of the next two chapters, there may be further enhancements in art and game mechanics. Each major update will introduce a new chapter, with a total of three planned. Please note that during these updates, saved files can be affected, but I'm committed to minimising this risk. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game is subject to change as we continue to add new content and features. Specifically, we will evaluate the pricing at major milestones, such as the release of Chapter Two. While we anticipate a price increase for the final release to reflect the value of the complete game, we aim to keep our community informed and provide fair notice before any changes. Remember, purchasing the game during Early Access allows you to enjoy current and future content at today's price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

  • Dynamic Communication Channels: Utilising Discord and the Steam Community Hub for frequent updates, discussions, and sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of the development process.

  • Feedback Integration: Gathering and prioritising features based on community input, with progress transparently tracked via an online Google Site DevLog.

  • Inclusive Interaction: Fostering a collaborative environment where community members can see their impact on the game's development directly on Discord and Steam.

Uncover the secrets of the supernatural world as Lachie, a young and determined werewolf on a quest to find her pack. In The Last Werewolf, you'll delve into a 2.5D world of mystery and intrigue, exploring three different towns and unravelling three captivating cases. Along the way, you'll meet new characters, discover hidden truths about your past, and come one step closer to finding where you truly belong.

Lachie's world is turned upside down when she discovers she's a werewolf. Determined to find others like her, she sets out on a journey of discovery. To aid in her search, Lachie delves into the world of supernatural stories and even creates a website, "Lachie's Spooky Tales," to gather information and fund her quest. However, her journey is not without challenges, as she must constantly monitor her actions and behaviours to prevent unwanted shifting into her wolf form. Each time she shifts, the trail becomes colder, and Lachie risks losing the chance to uncover the truth.

A mysterious tip leads Lachie to Summersville, where undead rats are rumoured to be roaming the community park. With only this unverified information, Lachie ventures into the heart of Summersville to uncover the truth. Is there a dark secret infesting this tranquil town, or is it just a rumour running rampant?

COMING SOON
In the wake of a cult hit film, 'Tainted Bloodlust', Lachie heads to Bittenborough, a town buzzing with tales of vampires and mystery. As tours and enthusiasts flood the streets, Lachie must sift through the hype to find the truth. Is there genuine vampire activity, or is it all just a clever publicity stunt?

To be announced

  • A "Wolf Metre" mechanic that allows players to monitor their behaviour and actions to avoid involuntary shifting into their wolf form.
