Why Early Access?

“Hey there! My name is Posey, and in 2022 I started a new game studio with a bunch of industry veterans, all wanting to make one super swanky Cyberpunk ARPG about a doomed Earth’s last hope… saving humanity by settling an alien world.

In the spirit of innovation and getting weird, we’ve created a neat iterative Early Access strategy. Intended not only to make every stage of the development a unique part of the game’s lore, but also to engage you, the player, in the development process (aka break our stuff!). By being a part of Early Access, you’ll learn about the world, lore, and meta narratives of the game, while having a blast and unlocking rad schwag along the way, and some major OG rep too.

Early Access will happen in three phases:

Closed Alpha - This will be the simulator that the first settlers to the alien world will experience within their cryo sleep, on the way to Planet 7. You’ll learn the basic concepts and mechanics of the game (walking, jumping, fishing, farming, combat.) This will really help us solidify the core mechanics in a very efficient and targeted manner. Once the beta is released the Alpha experience will no longer be available along with its possibility of unlocking Alpha rewards.

Open Beta - The Beta will take place on Planet 7 itself as the settlement is being constructed to be ready for the first settlers to arrive. You’ll play as one of the bots designed to clear the land and build the settlement. This will give you a chance to see the planet and settlement evolve as we build assets on the back end.

Release - Once the Beta has ended and no longer becomes available we will enter the Release phase and the Early Access will end and be no more. Yay the game is done.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This game will be in Early Access until December 2023 when we are targeting our Release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access Alpha and Beta will be more focused on mechanics and gameplay experience with some neat ways to reward and keep the player engaged. This will be done through two unique gameplay narratives that are tailored to fit the concept’s iterative development.

Closed Alpha

You’ve been selected (read: voluntold) to be one of the brave few who would venture forth to settle Planet 7. The voyage is long and cold through deep space, so you’ll spend it in cryo sleep. But why not have fun along the way? Your body may be sleeping, but your mind will take part in a simulation meant to prepare you for your life on Planet 7, while also ensuring that the settlers will awaken from cryo sleep without any neurological damage.
Except… There's a problem. Due to corporate greed and budget slashes, the simulation is corrupted. You’re trapped inside it. If you don't find a way to fix it and “escape”, you won't wake up when the ship reaches Planet 7, and you’ll be stuck forever in this neon hellscape.

We will be utilizing this Closed Alpha scenario as a way to trickle in each of the mechanics for the main game in an episodic format where you will enjoy a fun narrative experience of escaping the simulation. Additionally the Closed Alpha will allow early adopters to earn exclusive in-game rewards as they play, that will become accessible to them in the final release of the game. A way to really reward players for aiding and supporting the game’s development from the start.

The alpha will be active until February 2023 as we were invited by steam to participate in Next Fest.

Open Beta

The Open Beta scenario is entirely different. It will take place on Planet 7, while the settlers are still on their way. You will be playing as one of the Congobots, robots sent to the planet to prepare the site and build the settlement.

And that is what you will do. As we develop the game, tasks will be available for the player to experience the game setting. By completing the quests you’ll see the settlement evolve and grow. You will be given weekly missions like harvesting lumber, stone or clearing areas as you build the settlement. We want this experience to give you a sense of truly being a part of the development process, while also unlocking exclusive Beta rewards.

Like the Alpha this build will only be available during the beta event and the same goes for the exclusive in-game rewards players will earn while playing the Beta and giving much needed feedback to make the release as awesome as it deserves to be.

Release
The finished game will start with your settler’s arrival, beginning your adventure on Seneca 7. Based on their achievements gained from the Alpha and Beta events you will find all your cool exclusive schwag waiting for you.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We are currently in Closed Alpha. There are development graphics, some final art, middleware shortcuts and truly stuff done just to make it work so we can finalize its vision and move towards the Release.

Currently you can walk, run, jump, look around, and learn more about the simulation. :D

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price will change when we leave Early Access (Alpha and Beta) as we plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features and move towards Release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are doing a Fishbowl development process so come and watch us like you would watch monkeys fling poo at the zoo.

Additionally we will be offering ways to involve community aided development throughout the development cycle so the sooner you follow, like, subscribe and join our community the more you can influence this game’s development and some of the cool stuff that goes into it.
