Players assume the role of a mnemonist[1] , embarking on a quest to recover fragments of their memories. In essence, Fragments can be characterized as a deliberately paced and enigmatic experience.

"In the desolate expanse of a world forgotten by the winds, where humanity clung to the brutalist monoliths as their sanctuaries against the relentless assault of artificial weather, a man awoke. Void of memories, his mind was a blank slate, an empty vessel in a sea of chaos. This man, whom we shall call Eron, found himself in the midst of a journey not chosen but thrust upon him—a quest for the fragments of his past.

This emptiness within him was a void no amount of data or recollections could fill, a chasm that seemed to stretch with his every step. Eron's journey for fragments of his past was as much about filling this void as it was about understanding his place in a world that had moved on without him. "
