Varför Early Access?

“The end goal of the game is to have all 2136 Jouyou Kanji available. Currently, only Grade 1 Kanji are available, which is just 80. Early Access helps me make improvements to the UI, add other features, and fix any bugs as I continue to create the content for the other Kanji.”

“Up to a year.”

“The game is planned to have all 2136 Jouyou Kanji (the number of quantity Japanese people learn by the time they finish schooling), divided into grades and further divided into lesson chunks designed to make learning the Kanji easier. There are plans to add more enemies, more music, and more items as well.”

“Currently only Grade 1 is accessible, which includes 80 Kanji, as well as Hiragana/Katakana.”

Kanji RPG is a 2D RPG-lite game designed to help you learn how to read Japanese! Learn new Kanji and Kana by fighting enemies in different areas, and keep track of your progress in your handy-dandy stamp book.

Every so often, you'll fight bosses, which are much stronger enemies that gatekeep your ability to progress onto other areas of the game.

You can also customize your character's appearance, use weapons, and other items, whether by finding them in battle or purchasing them from the shop.

Currently, only Grades 1-3 are accessible, but the end goal of this game is to provide a platform for learning all 2136 Jouyou Kanji in one game!
