What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The goal of Early Access is to release content for the game in a "Dungeons and Dragons Session" style release that incorporated what we did as players during that "Session" of the DnD campaign the game is based off. I want to involve the community in determining what events, quests, and mechanics should go away or be expanded on as development continues for further sessions. For example, Fishing locations and a trainer are in the game now and we want to know if people want to engage in events like that or just focus on the main story and more side quests with killing monsters and collecting loot. I am ready for the commitment of continuing to work on this product, receive feedback, and see the project through to completion!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The "levels" of the game guide the main story through the "Dungeons and Dragons Sessions" that we played in real life. Comically, this means we will get together whenever our busy schedules allow for a small session to be played. Realistically, it means "Sessions" and the fun quests/events/mechanics that bridge the world around them will release on a monthly basis and should culminate in a complete act roughly by the end of 2023.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version of the game does not yet include the entire peninsula of Tanaviak as explorable ground as planned and currently ends with the party being pointed in the right direction but not yet seeing the events through to completion. The full version of this game will guide the narrative to the end of the first act of our campaign and the world around it will include such things as camping events, crafting, fishing, and more to give the areas around our "Dungeons and Dragons Sessions" a living world to interact with.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the Early Access version includes a fully voiced (over 50 talented voice actors!) world narrated by The DM. The characters can play through a tutorial section of sorts titled "Session 0: Prelude" and completely through "Session 1: First Hints of a Grave Threat" which includes several side quests, events, monsters to kill, abilities to learn, and more!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There is no goal to make this anything more than a free passion project to bring awareness of the custom world and enjoyment of the players!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The game is free so anyone can download it and enjoy the world. Players are welcome to join our official discord server and aid in the development by leaving suggestions and comments. They can also engage with the Voice Actors, IRL DnD players, and Game Developers directly and really have an impact on the development of the game!”

About This Game

This campaign plays in the genre of old Final Fantasy style taking place in a highly magical and steampunk-esque technological world on the verge of all-out war. This follows the Aasimar: Ashara, Half Elves: Embra and Ish Ma'el, and Marleek (custom race): Victalyassa as they join up in the Unnamed Guild, led by a Dwarf: Drosko, to complete a task for the High King which will put all of their skills and abilities to the test. The heroes meet up outside the city of Valtaska, on the peninsula of Tanaviak , to receive the quest that will start them on a long journey to save the cycle and end the evil machinations of the "Sand Cult" and their mysterious plans to bring about the end of the world as they know it. The quest to save the world will bring the heroes all over the peninsula and far beyond as the party interacts with Kings, High Society Nobles, Cultists, Brothel Women, Giant Flying Fire Whales, the Embodied Gods, and SO. MUCH. MORE.

The Tabletop RPG is played using Dungeons and Dragons 5e, with the rulesets, D20 system, and all. The Video Game adventure is no different, incorporating all it can from the tabletop to make it as authentic to the way it was originally played as possible. You will meet various races and classes of DnD 5e and custom races and classes created by Magenth. Though the campaign in the tabletop RPG kicked off with the quest, in the video game there will be a prelude which will introduce the players to the various mechanics and types of quests which will be found throughout the game including: D20 combat and skill checks, DnD spells and abilities, and a lot of different plugins credited in the game to present the best experience to players and the most accurate to the tabletop while still remaining a video game with all the considerations... considered. We hope you very much enjoy playing with these characters the same way we do!

DISCLAIMER:

This game was created by a single developer that has no background in coding or art or anything really needed to make a game, while they were in school; developed with RPG Maker MZ and a lot of free/credited resources from people with actual talent and now very talented VOICE ACTORS! I just have a cool story to tell about a DND campaign that I am happy to be a player in, and take way to much notes for. More sessions will be added as time permits, at a snails pace, but I thank you for taking the time to play it. If you enjoy it, share it!
