„The reason why the game is in early access to allow players to play the game while also allowing us to finish up the last few things needed for completion. This is also so that we can obtain feedback on the game itself and improve it for it's 1.0 release.“

STORY

After the fall of Amber Black, JOKER’s plan to take over the world began, and in one fell swoop, took over most of the world through its advanced PSYCON technology. But, a rebellion within JOKER’s forces broke off from the tyrannical faction and sided with the Frontlancers, a peace keeping force who are the only ones to stand up against them. Using the stolen PSYCON technology and newly made Psycho-Frames from JOKER’s headquarters, the Frontlancers create the HEAVY SHELLs, and begin their ultimate counterattack against JOKER’s rule.

Enter the newly developed "HEAVY SHELL" and fight back against JOKER's ambition to take over the world

Assault Shell 2 is evolution from the first as it features a cast of 4 new characters to pilot with! Use the Hyper and Blank INSTALL to drive your enemies mad, making both you and them stronger! Take risks and go all the way through 5 challenging and engaging stages! Take on powerful bosses as you put an end to JOKER's mad reign and take down their super weapon putting the world in their grasp!

*Note: Two controllers are required to play local co-op.
