Why Early Access?

“Survivor Mercs is an ambitious game that will grow a lot throughout the Early Access phase.
We want to make a game for you, our players. So we need your feedback as early as possible to create the game you want to play. We truly believe that great games should not be designed and developed in a vacuum.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“To this day, we released multiple smaller and three major updates. We estimate some additional months of development with more major updates throughout Early Access. But this can change if we improve and add more to the game based on the feedback and input we receive from the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current state of Survivor Mercs is what we call "the foundation" of the game.

What does "the foundation" mean?
The game has the majority of the core systems in place, and what we consider the minimum amount of content it needs to provide hours of gameplay already. From there, we aim to grow and develop the game into the full version - step by step.

You will get a roadmap soon that shows how we are planning our major updates during Early Access. We are currently planning to improve and add:

• more Mercs and Gear with interesting synergies,
  
• an improved system for Traits research and more Commander Traits to generate thousands of individual Commanders
  
• new Maps with unique Bosses and different Operation types,
  
• different rooms for your Bunker HQ that you can build with materials you loot during your Operations to get permanent bonuses and unlock helpful features
  
• Missions to unlock new Mercs, Rooms, Gear, Maps, Operations, and Commander Traits
  
• lootable Merc weapons in different rarity grades
  
• more variety of Objectives, weapons, and enemies

We are also dedicated to bringing the game to Linux and Mac, translating it into more languages, improving accessibility, and supporting Twitch streamers with our integration. The first available version allows you already to interact with your audience and let them decide about upgrades in the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently stable and fully playable as detailed above. You will be able to play randomly generated Commanders, configure your own with your researched Traits, and commence Operations on various maps where you can recruit a variety of Mercenaries to fight for you. In between Operations, you can upgrade your Bunker HQ with the loot you collected during operations.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We want to offer our early players a better deal for supporting us in improving the game.
We're planning to increase the price at full release and might adjust it during Early Access based on the content, features, and value added over time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Joining our Discord server is the best way to get in touch with us and get your feedback heard!

We will also try to monitor the Steam forums as closely as possible, and are trying to watch as many Youtube videos or streams of the game to see and analyze how our players are interacting with the game.
