Miksi Early Access?

I am building this game in Early Access so that you, the community, can join me on this journey, giving feedback, and helping me fix bugs earlier, ultimately making Ancient the best it can be.

I really don't know, but Steam needs me to put something here, so let's just say 2025.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

Once the final game is released, it will differ by a fair amount, with planned additional being a proper campaign, and story, a wave mode, and a few other new kinds of game modes, modding tools, and official Linux support.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The Early Access version doesn't have a lot right now, but there is much more content on the way. The content currently consists of some world exploration, as well as a fight with The Ancient One, showcasing the capabilities, and some plans for this game.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

The game is planned to have gradual price increases building up to 1.0, by how much, how frequently, and to what new total is currently unknown.

Miten yhteisö otetaan mukaan kehitysprosessiin?

I plan to try to integrate feedback from the community into the game, along with official modding support. I also love hearing bug reports, as it lets me fix them much faster.

Ancient is a third person exploration action-adventure game with shooting mechanics built on the Valley of the Ancient Sample Project provided by Epic Games.

Play as Echo, a troubled girl, born with magical abilities, trying to find answers to her past after an experiment gone wrong stripped her of all memories.

After attempting to go back in time to find answers, the portal malfunctioned sending her back to 100 years after the collapse of the old civilization, the Panthynos. Now you must work your way back to the portal to get back to the present and find answers to your past.

Play the game however you like with all of the following planned features for 1.0 release!

--Doom Tower (Scale 100 floors in the Doom Tower, facing familiar enemies as it gets progressively more difficult.)

--Single player Campaign (A complete story that takes the player through many missions, facing challenging enemies and forging alliances. Discover lost ancient abilities, uncover your past and make your way home.)

--Modding Tools (A modding toolkit that allows for the creation, distribution, installation, and loading of mods allowing you, the player to build and design custom maps, stories, tools, basically anything. It's only limited by your creativity!)*

--Full Linux Support**

*Modding tools are not available at launch and will be released to all owners of the game once released.

**Linux is not currently supported, however, it is planned to be supported sometime before 1.0, likely early in release.
