Varför Early Access?

“This is a game that, aside from help from some friends with art, I am almost entirely making by myself in spare time outside of my actual job. While the game itself is free, I still want to set appropriate expectations with players.

I want to use early access as a way to gather feedback from players and build a following for the game while it is still in development. We've made a wide variety of courses, but they are mostly unfinished still from a graphical standpoint. One of my main goes is to get feedback on the overall difficulty of the game. The current iteration of the Impossible difficulty is extremely difficult - I want to see if this is something people would be into, or if the difficulty needs to be turned down.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“My best guess is that it will take another 6 months after becoming available before I am able to polish everything I want to have in order to consider it a full release. This could easily change based on feedback received.”

“While the core gameplay is mostly complete (with a few pieces being unfinished and not yet working as intended), the courses themselves need a lot of work. I plan on working on bug fixes, more polished courses, more hats, finished menus, and some more sound effects. An original soundtrack is also in the works - right now the game uses royalty free music. In addition to the items listed above, I plan to add a tutorial, content/difficulty pacing (right now you can go straight for the hardest course) and Steam Achievements.

Looking longer term, I would love to have more complex features such as asynchronous multiplayer so you can challenge your friends.”

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“The state of the early access version is outlined in the "About this Game" section of the page. Everything included there is already in the game, albeit in a partially unfinished state,”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“No. The base game itself is free! This will not change.

If the game becomes popular or even has a small following, I would like to add extra course packs as DLC. I haven't fleshed out exactly what those will look like, but the initial thought that I keep coming back to is to have packs of 3 courses for a few dollars.

It would give people that love the game extra content and a way to support me in further development of the game.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“A Discord server has been set up (https://discord.gg/sr2RKRqgZY) for players to discuss the game, with a dedicated channel for feedback. We would encourage players to give constructive feedback on all aspects of the game, especially the difficulty of the courses.”
