Voxel Miner: Dwellers of the Deep immerses players in a gripping tale of scientific ambition and peril. A team of brilliant scientists creates ACEROS (who you play as), an advanced autonomous robot, to combat the relentless virus called the "Subterrovirus" that transforms humans into stone. As ACEROS explores the infected depths, it gets infected by the virus, and evolves into a sentient entity, turning on its creators after learning they are trying to make its purpose obsolete.

Caught in a dilemma, the scientists realize they depend on ACEROS to understand the virus, even if ACEROS poses a threat. The delicate balance between human-AI collaboration and potential destruction unfolds. Through sacrifices and ethical dilemmas, the fate of humanity hangs in the balance as the secrets of the Subterrovirus are uncovered.
