Why Early Access?

“Cosmic Strike – The Last Sub Sector has been in development for just over two years. I believe that sharing my development with the community will help me greatly improve the game. Entering Early Access will allow me to seek feedback and ensure that the game is going in the right direction and build a community for the love of space games.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan on releasing updates on average once a month (Excluding bug fixes) throughout Early Access, until the game is complete. So I expect the game to be fully released Q1 2024 depending on how many additional features are requested by the community during Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There will be an greatly improved Tutorial, teaching you the many basics and mechanics of the game.

The game currently only has 1 main game mode, I hope to expand into 4 or 5 more different game modes. To give players more variety and lean into other game genres.

There is currently only 1 enemy faction in the game, I will hopefully be adding 7 more enemy factions all with different skills and abilities. To keep the player on there toes.

The game will have a full Storyline added to immerse you, in the world of Cosmic Strike. From raging battles, to conflicts within the vanguard fleet.

There is currently only 10 ships in the game I plan on adding 30+ more ships. The artwork for 8 have already been done, and will be added to the game in the next big update.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already features all of the core mechanics after a total rework from feedback from taking part in Steam Next Fest in February 2023.

A basic tutorial with text prompts on how to control your ship.

Unlock ship blueprints from any of the 3 ship manufactures in the research Center. To gain access to purchasing ships from the shipyard.

Recruit any of the 50+ Crew members to enhance your ships performance from the Crew Garrison.
You can also unlock the Training Center to Level up your crew members for increased stats.

Purchase Modules from the Modules Facility, to further enhance your ships performance.

Unlock Buildings from Athena Station like the Black Market to gain Access to Currency trading. The Engineering Hub for cheaper repairs, or the Sensor Array for increased ship detection range.

Unlock the Vanguard Elite Academy for access to the Elite skills, a 6th skill that gets added to your skill bar. This includes skills ranging from nukes, to missile strikes, turrets, heals, and an all important auto emp missile pulse.

Choose from a variety of missions in the control Center, Spanning 10 difficulty levels. Each victory will deplete the Treat level tracker, allowing the enemy boss to spawn.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As the game evolves, depending on how many additional features are requested by the community during the Early Access the price will increase on full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“During the past 2 year in development, I have suggested ideas on our discord server, where the community has also given input and suggested ideas, on what to add or remove from the game. There help has also been invaluable in bug fixes and testing out the games economy and gameplay balance.”
