What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“On Orbit requires community involvement to steer its development direction.
Our software is in public beta, if you're interested in helping us playtest test the game, we'd love you to use the 'Contact Us' page at our website.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“From launch it will be in early access for approximately 12 months, our intention is to add up to 12 new missions, dropping a new mission each month, whilst also iterating on player feedback and experiences.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will contain more missions, more components, more space hardware, and different levels of functionality. It's also intended that more realism be injected into the graphics system of the game with an orbit management system.

The roadmap includes establishing a 3D model marketplace so players can buy real world models off of Steam and use them in game, incorporating real Earth Observation imaging using actual satellite imagery and an orbital management system.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“OnOrbit is currently in public beta demo contains the basic game with about 2 hours of gameplay and 8 missions. All critical components of the game are complete, with a tech tree, wallet, mission progression system and tutorial system already completed. We are now in production phase, adding new space hardware components and component behaviours to each of these systems.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Early access keys will be honored as the game develops, but we are still researching game price to determine what players are most comfortable with. We are unlikely to vary that price between early access and full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be looking for feedback on the game premise and bug reports against the existing build and the game already has an internal feedback system that allows players to submit feedback in game.

We will run a Discord server for players to communicate with us. We would like to know what sort of craft and missions to add next to On Orbit. We also aim to create a modding community, run competitions to add different hardware to the game. Finally, we'd like our community to help us decide what functionality to pursue in the next iteration.”

About This Game

Welcome Spacefarer, Join us On Orbit!

Try our sandbox, simulator and strategy PC game on STEAM or EPIC Games store from August 2024.
Its a high fidelity, real world and near future space simulator, featuring real world space engineering.

Gameplay - What's under the hood

We’re going, Together.

Join OnOrbit’s Supranational Space Cooperative (SSC) on its journey to make life multiplanetary. Your personal mission? Develop the skills you need to take humanity out into the solar system. Once your technical and psychological training is complete, use your knowledge to head out to the planets and build, build, build!

Build and repair spacecraft on orbit

Using real world, and near future space hardware, build your own craft from the ground up. Go from the smallest craft, to the craziest design you can think of in sandbox mode.

Operate your craft to complete missions

Use robotic arms, fire thrusters, mate with docking ports, spin reaction wheels, deploy aerials, move solar panels, take camera shorts ... operate any and all of your spacecraft parts to complete your mission, but watch out, they don't all work as expected.

Harvest Space Junk for Profit and Space Karma

Is it a rare part, or worthless space rust? Bring them back to the station and strip them for IS$ or reverse engineer them for reuse. Be warned though, you may have collected more than you bargained for.

Build and rent space on your own space station

Climb in the rankings and get to build your own space station. Take it to Mars, Venus or beyond. Lucky enough to own your own station? Rent a docking port to other players, sell them power, fuel, air and water and help them get their smaller craft in orbit around other planet

Catch a lift to Venus, Mars and Beyond on the O/O Interplanetary Transport Cycler Network

Join one of the space station missions, inspect the SSC Thor, SSC Tunguska, SSC Black Knight or the SSC LaGrange in the full version of the game.

Along with the sandbox, the future roadmap has us building the latest and greatest models from all your favorite space companies. Investigate and explore the ISS, Axiom space station, Artemis Lunar Gateway, Blue Origin's Orbital Reef, CASC's Tianggon sation and the ISS. Refuel and repair Hubble, Chandra, James Webb, Starlink satellites and the other on orbit craft. Fly the Sierra Dreamchaser, the Boeing Starliner, SpaceX's Dragon Then build out your own fleet to head out there.

If you're a modeler or a modder and want to know more, please visit us at our website. We're looking for captains for our existing stations around Earth, Venus and Mars.
