Why Early Access?

“Early Access is a great opportunity to gather feedback on gameplay, content, and game balance, and ultimately I think working closely with players during development is a good way to make a great game. A lot of my favorite games heavily involved community in their process and I truly believe there are multiple aspects of Conquistador's development that will benefit greatly from Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is for Conquistador to be in Early Access for a few years or until I feel confident the game is polished enough to be considered 1.0”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to contain 4 fully featured areas, each with 4 different sublevels for a total of about 16 levels, more starting weapons, more ability items, multiple bosses and boss varieties for the end of each area, mini bosses, new dungeon types, NPCs to find and bring back to camp, character customization, and more.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Conquistador currently contains the first area of the game, The Jungle, which consists of 4 different randomly generated levels, for a total of 12 stages before reaching the end where you will face a boss, with shops, secrets, challenges, a bunch of enemies, dungeons, temples, and powerups to find along the way.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan on raising the price as we release and add more content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“By listening to the community's suggestions through the Steam forums, Discord, YouTube, and whichever other means of communication players use to share their feedback. I really enjoy watching people play the game, and find that it is a great way to learn and decide what the development priorities should be.”
