About This Game

Salve! Pax Augusta is probably the most authentic ancient city-building simulation ever.

Many buildings have been recreated 1:1 and can still be visited today as ruins. Historians, archaeologists and many other active community members have supported the project with their expertise from the very beginning.

As the empire expands its borders, capable governors are sought to found new cities in order to consolidate the Roman claim to the newly conquered land. You build a small settlement along a newly constructed imperial road. You attract new inhabitants to the city by building a harbor and a forum. As your tax revenue increases, you begin to mine raw materials and construct new buildings to meet the needs of the population. Baths, theaters, gladiator schools, slave markets, etc. not only serve to keep your inhabitants entertained, but also to provide them with work. Import marble and other raw materials from distant regions and build monumental temples and palaces!

As a skillful governor, you will quickly catch the eye of the senate or the emperor. They will assign you new provinces to colonize. As you increase your private fortune, you will eventually be able to afford to become a senator. From then on, you will also become involved in political intrigues. Of course, you can also start your own intrigues, perhaps with enough money and power to reach the highest title: Emperor of Rome.

Will you always remain a poor governor or will you actually manage to become the most powerful man in the world? What awaits you in the game?

-Create your own Roman city with historically accurate buildings.
-The sandbox mode offers you complete freedom to build and design villages, settlements and even huge cities.
-Experience an exciting campaign in story mode - based on the historical writings of Tacitus.
-You must decisively counter fires, botched construction and uprisings among the population.
-Barbarian uprisings, locally stationed legions or wars in distant areas of the empire will have an impact on your strategy.
-Moody, benevolent or wasteful emperors will each have a strong influence on your life as governor.
-Huge maps - you colonize the northern borders of the empire - mainly the area of Gaul and Germania.
