What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Sentinel Point Heroes changes a lot from the a typical Roguelike Deckbuilder experience. This means constantly trying new things and listening to the community to see what works. Already the demo and streamers have given me a lot to think about in terms of feedback and I look forward to increasing this and seeing what players think about the rest of the game.

Some of the big challenges so far have been working out how Resolve and Sidekicks should work which were both added after the demo was released. I expect to work on making the game more interesting and easier to play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This highly depends. There is enough content for a full game right now, but feedback may sway this, probably to extend the length of a run, clean up the mod maker or make information clearer. Unless a major change happens, I aim to leave early access at the start of 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“If you play and the game comes naturally for you, then early access will give you more of what you love, there are more acts, more classes and a mod maker. What is currently missing is a lot of the story aspects and alternative ways to play(such as challenge runs). All of the Archetypes and Aspects will see increased and reworked card pools but should be currently playable and several are still missing and will be added over early access.

The boss pool also hasn't been increased from the demo, but will see regular releases as they are heavily tied into the story aspects.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access will have access to three acts of the game, three main boss types, 100+ cards over three Archetypes (Martial, Magic and Science) and one Aspect (Shapeshifter). 20+ gear, 12+ Trainings to change how cards function and 20+ events.

There is also a fully functional mod editor where you can make your own sets of cards, events, gear and training for use in the Steam Workshop. Lots of these are ready for further testing including an entire other Archetype.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“This depends on how many of my stretch goals I end up completing in early access and how many need to be put aside or used as DLC. There will definitely be a small increase as I want early access to be accessible.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I already have in game feedback and a discord you can contact me on. Many of the demo players have given feedback that you can see in the game now. I plan to keep this up and only increase the level of feedback I can support.”

About This Game

The city of Sentinel Point is in danger and needs a protector! Protect it in this superhero themed roguelike deckbuilder.

Spend time, not mana:

The game is turn based but every card costs time and you will have to wait for it to be ready - When a villain tries to punch, you better already be blocking. Weave in punches while they recover in a tactical battle where every turn matters!

Each run unique:

Each run you can choose one or two Archetypes such as Martial, Magic or Science to make the hero you want. You can also add a Aspect which adds extra cards - maybe your Magic User is also a mutant who can shapeshift? Did your Scientist learn how to become a speedster?

Gain gear, training to modify cards, extra powers and even a sidekick over the course of a run to help you out!

Be careful though, because every hero you can play as also has a villainous side and their own deck to battle against. Every run also has a dark power behind it lending them power - Will you find they are channelling the power of a dark god? Do they have a death ray swivelling in your direction? Battle them and find out!

Play your way:

The full game will come with a powerful mod maker which will let you make new cards, events, acts and more!
