What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I have been building this game for the last two years. It has finally reached the point where I am populating the missions, fine tuning pacing and fixing bugs. So with mission one through five being completed and fully functional I thought it was a good time to bring it out.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I was hoping to have it done with in a year but everything got pushed back as life threw some challenges against my plans. So now that my personal and professional lives are more stable I am moving forward and hoping to get it done within the next year and a half, I really want it completed by 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The initial version had missions one and two out of the total eighteen missions. And I have already added missions 3,4 and 5. As I complete the missions I will be pushing out new builds. The save data system is persistent so no progress loss from build to build, unless you delete the save files or remove the entries from registry.
So as levels come out you can start rescuing ships and researchers. The first four ships are the ones that you can select from when you make a new game but starting on mission 5 you will start getting access to ships, that you couldn't choose from when you started. And the researchers you rescue, allow you to unlock upgrades to your ships.
This also gives everyone a chance to let me know if the upgrades are to powerful or not powerful enough. These upgrades have all been tested, but I could have missed something.
With early access it mostly gives you the ability to tell me stuff while the game is being built. This give me a better chance of fixing issues during the game development instead of at the end when I think everything is done.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first build had two missions which are completed and tested once you beat mission 1 mission 2 will become available on the missions map and etc etc until all missions are unlocked. There are eighteen total missions that will be in the game, as I complete these missions I will be making new builds and pushing them out, through out the early access. Your save game data is persistent so you will not experience progress loss, unless they delete the save data files or wipe your systems registry.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to have the full version cost more because people that help with an early access game deserve a lower cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan on communicating with them through the forums and on https://initialnode.com . I will also be streaming on twitch @ https://www.twitch.tv/malcritch and will put dates and times up on the forums and on the home page. I will be reviewing the comments because if something is not good I really want to know.”

About This Game

Intense bullet hell. Upgrade your ships unlock capabilities and push against difficult design.

One or two player game with both players being on the same screen. Think of the old arcade top down shooters.

There are a total of ten ships, you can select one of the first four when you start a new game after that the other nine can be rescued during missions.
Ship 1 can be rescued in mission 1 ship 2 in mission 2 etc.
There are eleven researchers that can be rescued, they unlock upgrade research that goes across all the ships.
- Speed, Fire Power, Fire Rate, Missiles, Bombs etc.

I am designing the game so that the end missions will be close to impossible with out upgrading the capabilities of your ships.

- During beta testing mission 2, it drove me crazy because I designed it's difficulty to really push the player from what they experienced on mission 1.

Game is progress based once you beat mission 1 you get access to mission 2 etc, but secret missions 1 2 and 3 will require conditions to be met, such as beat mission 5 with out taking any red health damage.
