“No timeframe has been set. Since the game is a city builder, there is a lot to create, including game modes, mechanics, buildings, units, maps, and much more.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I have a lot planned for the 1.0 release of VIKING - Sagas of the Norse Lands. I will soon be sharing a roadmap outlining the game's future developments. The full version of VIKING - Sagas of the Norse Lands will include, at a minimum, a campaign mode with several scenarios, a sandbox mode, and a dozen maps.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version is fully playable, stable, and includes all the content needed to play for several hours. Building construction, resource gathering, production system, crafting, and much more.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Between now and release, the game will be expanded with numerous content additions (game modes, game mechanics, buildings, etc.). As a result, its price will be slightly increased during and after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback and opinions are the main reason why I am offering my game in Early Access. You can also leave comments on the Steam community hub to tell me what you think of the game and help me shape it during development.”

Roadmap

During Early Access, many features will be added to the game. Some will be changed and maybe some will be deleted.

At the moment, the game does not have all its content, due to Early Access. Take into account that the game will grow over time and have a lot more content.

Now, here is the list of the different elements that are planned in the game during the Early Access phase.

Game modes:

  • A "campaign" mode with several historical scenarios

  • A "sandbox" mode in which you can choose a map and go on an adventure

In-game features:

  • The intervention of different Viking gods and goddesses. Honor them or... fear them!

  • Trade between neighbouring cities. Sell or import the resources you'll need.

  • Raids! Prepare a ship and go on a raid to earn resources, gold, and more!

  • Awareness System : Find out what your citizens and neighboring cities think!

At the moment, the game is available in the following languages:

  • Chinese Simplified

  • Spanish - Spain

Playtests

Many playtests will be on the program during Early Access in order to:

  • Testing new game modes

  • Testing new features

  • Check that no bugs are still present

  • Take your feedback on everything that is good, to be improved, or even to be deleted.

Your feedback will be of crucial importance for the further development of the game, so don't hesitate to participate in the playtests and give as much feedback as possible.

About This Game

VIKING – Sagas of the Norse Lands is an isometric 2D city-builder, rooted in the Viking Age and based on an old-school grid-building system, which allows you to build and govern your city.

Immerse yourself in the Nordic landscapes and relive 273 years of Viking history, from the first raid on the great monastery of Lindisfarne (793) to the Battle of Stamford Bridge (1066). Manage all aspects of Viking culture and lead your people to greatness.

VIKING – Sagas of the Norse Lands takes up the basics of the gameplay of the first city-builders of the 2000s. Design and build your own city over nearly three centuries of history. A road, houses, a water well... The adventure can begin!

Create numerous production lines and provide your citizens with everything they need. Produce wheat on your farms, turn it into flour in a mill, and bake bread to feed your people. Use the resources for your needs or to trade with other cities!

The interface of VIKING – Sagas of the Norse Lands has been designed for immediate understanding. The side panel brings together all the essential information and gives you quick access to the buildings and management data associated with each category.
