Why Early Access?

“'Escape Purgatory' (EP) developers chose to release the game, Early Access, in an attempt to offer the game to a broad array of players, on a platform that encourages game-based community and cohesion. Feedback is always appreciated--especially from a wide player audience--as it helps in determining whether the design and story goals are received as anticipated and whether the overall experience is horror-filled, but also fun and engaging. EP is here for a fun time + a long time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 10-16 months. As the game continues to grow and change, developers continue to update and enhance and modify facets of the game--without altering the story. There is a strong and necessary need to make changes to gameplay systems (and technologies..?) and/or add to the scope of the game before it can be called "complete".”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The "complete" version of "Escape Purgatory" (EP) is anticipated to have loads of bonuses, including but not limited to story-mode animations, detailed models and figures/symbols, audio and voice enhancements, *other play modes/options, and so much more!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The primary programs + systems are working in the best capacities. Players intuitively make their way through a limbic state of reality where they must engage with various facets (dark + scary creatures); all in an attempt to survive. This Early Access/ Alpha Build is set up to where players are able to traverse the world (via walking) and navigate through the nightly terrain while solving puzzles. There are plans and efforts to further expand the game; nonetheless, all the current features are operational and up-to-date.

Presently, game developers anticipate players needing anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours for first-time game completion. After the game is fully understood, it can be completed, fully, in under 10 mins. For the speed runners out there, the challenge is on!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Pricing will probably remain the same.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Developers welcome feedback and comments from players/'survivors'. Comments on the store page or Discussion box are checked regularly; EP developers value the 'survivors' impression of the game and want to make it as great of a horror experience as it can be.

Feel free to open discussions on topics relating to game playability, game difficulty, and more. There is always work to be done to better these things for a more streamlined, horror experience.”
